Twelve heavily armed Zimbabwean Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers are reportedly waiting at Harare Remand Prison to re-arrest Walter Magaya following his release on bail granted earlier today by Justice Mandaza.

According to intelligence sources within Zimbabwe’s secret service, the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO), a police officer has come forward alleging that his daughter was also raped by Magaya, further intensifying the situation surrounding the controversial cleric.

A senior CIO officer has allegedly vowed that Magaya will be taken back into custody, signalling a coordinated effort to ensure his re-detention today.

This latest development highlights growing tension within elements of the security establishment over how this highly sensitive and politically charged case should proceed.
