One of my favorite parts of having adhd is how failing yourself numerous times every single day on a micro level infinitely reinforces the self-hate neural pathways until they are so strong that even your high-achieving perfectionism and severe anxiety can’t balance them out so you’re just perpetually disappointed in yourself and convinced you’re incapable no matter what you achieve
I'm finally reading Dune. This quote, which is in the first few pages, hits hard:
"Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them."
Most Neurodivergent people don't like making plans too far in advance because they don't know how they'll feel on the day but they also don't like same day plans because it feels too last minute.
The President just used his power to exempt himself and his family from audits on every tax return they've ever filed.
If that is not corruption to the highest degree, then what is?
BREAKING NEWS: South African scientists have announced results of genomic sequencing of samples from 2 infected cruise ship passengers.
They’ve confirmed it is the ANDES VIRUS.
This strain is known to be transmitted human-to-human & has previously caused superspreader events.
I like how literally every article and tweet about this hantavirus situation is like “human transmission is possible BUT VERY RARE”
and then cheerfully goes on to tell you a bunch of people infected each other in a short time frame on a cruise
The level of ineptitude in dealing with the Hantavirus outbreak so far is so huge it's difficult not to imagine that it might be deliberate.
Every single mistake made with Covid has already been repeated in the outbreak of Hantavirus. Did we really learn NOTHING in the last six years?
Neurotypicals: Friday feels like a reward.
ADHDers: Friday feels like I survived 5 days of pretending to function, and now I’ve got 48 hours to recover before I have to do it all over again on Monday.
Unpopular opinion: I think combustion-engine motorcycles and mopeds should be phased out in Europe.
It’s hard to justify that a single loud motorcycle can disturb hundreds, if not thousands, of people in densely populated cities, especially when quieter electric alternatives already exist. Noise pollution is also proven to have negative health effects.
A reasonable first step would be to stop registering new ICE motorcycles, followed by gradually limiting where existing ones can operate, for example banning them in city centers or during nighttime hours.
China has proven how quiet cities can be when you remove noise two-wheelers. @battleangelviv
