A comprehensive summary of Tolkien's use of the word 'Amazon':
I wrote this thread on Reddit a while back, but I haven't put it out on Twitter yet, so I figured I would in case people not on Reddit are interested. (1/?)
@genosamuelgeno I think it was less butchered in the editing room than it is meant to be reflective of Laura's consistently disoriented mental state. That said, The Missing Pieces has some scenes that I absolutely wish had been included in the final cut
@TotallyNotMark I think it's primarily functioning as a character study, not a plot-driven series. There is a plot of course, but it's secondary when it needs to be, and I think the show is better for it
So far my main takeaway from Twin Peaks season 3 is that if I don't know what to say in a conversation I should just repeat the last two or three words the other person said
@makotoyukimura I can't wait to read it! Vinland Saga has become one of my favorite series, and the recent chapters have been amazing. You've done great work
@AirspeedPrime Love how Asami's just hanging out as a giant figure basically superimposed onto the sky like a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure character who died at the end of the part
This is like some episode of a show where the comic relief side character is separated from the group and when they find him he’s the leader of a planet or something.
Snoopy is the most famous dog in the world. And he's giving a live performance of his theme song. This is like the dog version of being at a Michael Jackson concert in 1987. "It's not that fire bro 😭😭". Uh...yes it is. Please respect that little guy's culture
@AirspeedPrime I'm not seeing too much pushback against it surprisingly. I like the idea; the 4 nations as a concept isn't intrinsic to the world, and hasn't been a thing for most of the Avatar's history. I think exploring a world where they don't exist could be really interesting.
