⚠ NYC Weather Alert: Be Ready to Act Now!
NYC is under a Flood Watch, Travel Advisory until Friday 8AM and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until Thursday 8PM. Dangerous weather can develop fast. Don’t wait for an alert to move to safety.
✅ Know the alerts 🚫 Avoid flooded areas 🏃♂️ Act immediately if water rises
Stay safe, stay informed, and be ready to move quickly.
Yesterday’s subway flooding reminds me of #vanshnook’s point that Hillside Ave is too flood-prone for an F train extension. But what if that’s why we should?
Inspired by KL’s SMART Tunnel, we could extend the F and build stormwater infrastructure alongside it.
Probably NYC’s fastest potential transit expansion: Convert the Port Washington @LIRR to RER-style regional rail.
No new tracks. No new stations. Just OMNY fare gates, subway frequency, and equity for Northeast Queens. @GovKathyHochul
The beach season is almost here, and we’re determined to make the sea as safe as possible.
Great to join @RisingTideEffct’s Kaitlin Krause on @NY1 with @AnnikaPergament today to talk about the dangers of rip currents and the historic investments we’re making in swim safety.
Implementation has begun on 31st Ave (31st St to Steinway St) in #Queens.
Crews installed markings for a two-way parking protected #bikenyc lane. Work at this location will:
✅Install protected bike lanes
✅Add public realm amenities
✅Create one-way conversion
✅Reduce speeding

Proud to work alongside @OpenPlans, my elected colleagues and our entire traffic safety community to ensure that our streets are as safe as they can be for ALL who use them, no matter how you use them.
Now let's get Intro 1138 passed, because lives hang in the balance.
🚨 Rumors are swirling that Gov. Hochul might meet with Trump in D.C. — and the fate of congestion pricing hangs in the balance. 🚨
New Yorkers fought hard for this program, & we need to keep fighting to protect it.
Here’s how YOU can take action today.

Hear from @bfurnas on how congestion pricing is reshaping our streets & why the fight for safe streets + protected bike lanes is connected.
Together, we’ve fought for safer streets, cleaner air, and a more connected city — and we’ll keep fighting to protect it.
😍😍😍 Bedford Ave’s protected bike lane rocks! When the pedestrian islands can be kept clear of cars with granite blocks or other impermeable objects, the street is safer for everyone, incl drivers. Thank you @NYC_DOT@OsseChi 📸: Zack
More granite blocks everywhere, please!🪨
Anti-speeding tech has officially been upgraded by @NYCDCAS from a "studied" technology to a "best practice".
A small number of extreme repeat speeders are causing mayhem on our streets, and this session we must pass A02299/S7621 and #StopSuperSpeeders.

Mayor Adams is failing bus riders. NYC added just 9.6 miles of bus lanes in two years — a fraction of the 150 miles he’s legally required to deliver.
Meanwhile, buses crawl at 8.1 mph citywide on average.
We need a mayor who prioritizes bus riders.

As the weeks go on and we get more data, it's really looking like congestion pricing is speeding up commutes for everyone!
💥 66% of New Yorkers who commute into the congestion zone by car a few times per week or more now support congestion pricing!!

Thrilled to be partnering with @RidgewoodRides to give a talk on your #bikenyc rights, what to do in the event you are injured in a crash & discuss how insurance works & what options are available to you. Everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there.

Midtown's Crosstown corridors deserve traffic relief and lively streets! A true Midtown Miracle!
The 34th Street Busway could be the miracle we need.🚍✨

Thanks again to all bill co-sponsors & special ❤️ to bill author @CMJenGutierrez! Please weigh in in support w your CMs!
