When yall make racism a quintessential part of a white teen’s coming of age, you also make it quintessential to black teen’s coming of age. “Omg she was only 15 when she said nigger”, yeah and black kids will only be 15 when they’re called that.

“The (blank) problem” or “The (blank question” was popular in late 19th and early 20th century political discourse. In post Risorgimento Italy, “the Italian question/problem” gave way to “the Southern question/problem” and in any event its supremely irrelevant.
which to me is ironic, because their essentialism rhetoric against gender and sexual as choice, performance, behavior etc, reveals that they agree it’s is a performance, only that Trans ppl are doing it wrong
‘elite’ is now a pejorative like ‘cosmopolitan’ referring to people of sophisticated taste and refined sensibilities, with the included conservative connotations of ‘globalist’. Ironically, the right is obsessed with the ‘elitism’ performance. structures like class don’t matter
I am deeply fascinated by the modern right's insistence that "the elite" is a category that does not actually include the ultra wealthy who dominate society and dictate many of its laws, and is instead made up of socialist teachers, anti-genocide protestors, and "woke" baristas.
