46 people died from covid this past week in Alberta, a paediatric hospice temporarily closed, hospitals are overwhelmed with sick kids and adults, workplaces are struggling with illness and burnout, but let's not do anything just yet. It's fine.
This is so WORTH listening to at the end. What makes us civilized. Are we losing our civility? I said I wouldn't get vaccinated against Covid variants. But, here I go!
Canada's Healthcare Crisis:
Pediatric hospice discharges respite patients, so staff are redeployed to children's hospital where there's not enough staff for the surge in patients
Dr. @JVipondmd says he doesn't recognize the society he's living in

With community challenges, crisis and complexities to numerous to mention, I want to express my gratitude for all those public servants stepping up do do more through the HC (2) Campaign. @ETSO_GCWCC
I would love to talk to a psychologist about the intricacies of COVID-19 burnout. How things are worse than ever yet no one seems to care. Is it desensitization? Acclimatization? Denial? Lack of concern by authority figures? Disobedience? Rebellion? Fight or flight exhaustion?
I need help understanding why everyone is traipsing into work and everywhere else, when Covid in Edmonton's wastewater is WAY beyond what it was this time last year. Also, why is no one talking about this? https://t.co/UHyfGw1Gkx @AntibioticDoc@kmarkovCTV
@katiebindley This is soooooo me. The new way of working needs to be based on results with 'form following function'. We have this once in a century opportunity to transform the way we live in powerful ways. It's like getting electricity. We can live differently.
Those working for companies that will let ppl work from anywhere are taking advantage. A head of product marketing at Atlassian found a recruit on the slopes of Tahoe. She moved there from SF, works for a competitor & is supposed to go back to this fall but doesn’t want to
@worldofabe YUP! We've changed our lives so quickly. Org structures changed. By the early 2010s we had fully wedged ourselves into cubicle corners with our computers. Laughter was rare. Trusted working relationships needed for engagement and collaboration harder still. NO wonder!
