i've finally taken the time to write out a framework for personal data sovereignty. please take a read and let me know your thoughts!
you should be able to leave without losing yourself

@tavus There’s 0 chance 48% of people believed they were talking to a human. Unless you biased the population by asking people who are 70+ years old.
That shit was easy to spot in the first half a micro second. Mouth moving a damn Annoying Orange video
@signulll i guess this is a bait and switch then?
> We believe people should also be able to choose a fully private mode for personal agents [...] Muse Confidential VM is intended to cryptographically and verifiably prevent Meta from accessing data in your VM.

Use any personal assistant except @Meta@Muse
Why?
Simple
It's meta
We sold them everything about us in the last wave of technology for convenience. Let's not make the same mistake with the remaining personal data we have. Muse is not unique in most of its capabilities relative to other personal assistants or agent harnesses excluding it's integrations with other meta products which, if you're still on, is a problem you should think about fixing
@alexandr_wang These guys are the ones who will keep going and kick off the disaster that causes our extinction. All so they could be first to hypnotize their boomer users with more ads and shitposts.
acknowledging someone's individual experience...existence...is the fastest way to earning their trust
use someone's name while talking to them
watch entertainment venues communicate to crowds: sports games, concerts - all say "you exist"
general human greeting norms of thanking people for attending an event, investing/donating, commenting
I'm embarrassed that it took me so long to run local models this aggressively. Sorry fam.
TLDR: Hosted models are so much fucking better but it scratches the tinkerers itch that makes me feel like I'm in my 20s again.
An alternative hypothesis:
- model performance is plateauing
- compute is getting much more expensive
- AI data centers are massively unpopular
- slowing down AI development is a way to explain slowing progress, reduce spending, and try to regain some goodwill.
- This is an effort to save the IPO not humanity.
