@SpicherGael@EAVPalaeo@JURASSICAMuseum Thank you for the update. Please keep us up to date so we may document our type and figured lists and any publications.
We are also featuring a guest contribution on our blog! Lead study author Dr. David Hone explains how Makrodactylus fills in gaps in pterosaur evolution and provides insight into the geological context.

@PalaeoE Thank you for sharing the publication of the third new genus and species of pterosaur described from the @LauerFoundation collections from the Solnhofen region of Bavaria Germany. Special thanks to Dave Hone and Frederik Spindler.
A new #pterosaur has been found in #Germany! Makrodactylus oligodontus is known from a beautiful fossil found in the #Jurassic Mörnsheim Formation. As an early monofenestran pterosaur, it helps fill in a gap in their evolution!

@ESCONI Thanks for all that ESCONI does. There was a very good turn out of people who came to explore and talk about their shared interests in these deposits.
Thank you for allowing our fossil shark colleagues from the NHMUK to see this site and meet everyone!
@WitmerLab@AMNH So sad to learn of his loss. He was incredibly kind and generous with sharing his time and talents with us. We saw him often over the years and will be missed!
@ESCONI Rich, Thanks for sharing this amazing worm from the Solnhofen, Jurassic in our collections @LauerFoundation. It doesn’t look like much in visible light, but
under UV light all of the bristles & details are easily seen! For more info: https://t.co/xZxPb5I4tr
@Dave_Hone @AdamJamesFitch @AdamJamesFitch’s work was critically the most important and biggest surprise during this research as it demonstrates “Skiphosoura baverica’s” place as the “missing link” within the fossil record of transitional changes in the tree. Thank you!
