@roper_lynn An IEP is an individualized plan/file for students who have special needs that includes their performances, goals, progress, participation, services and aids. Parents are involved in the IEP process and must sign off on the plan. #EDSP4250SP21
@drjervin@TED_ED#EDUC2100 A5- my favorite TedEd is “Are you a good listener?” By the School of Life. I think teaching students how to be a good listener is something important to implement at a young age and constantly remind them of. This is a necessary life skill that will continue to benefit.
@reginateach@drjervin#EDUC2100 Yes! There are many topics that build off each other (especially in math) so if a student doesn’t completely understand a topic before moving on, then they will be even more lost.
@drjervin A4 #EDUC2100 I can implement “students take ownership” by giving the students different options on which activities we could do as a class for a particular topic and have them vote on which they would like to do. Having the students engaged will then also help me as a teacher.
@KuzmaKatherine@drjervin#EDUC2100 Yes! It is very easy to hide behind technology and then not learn how to properly communicate with others (which students will have to do for the rest of their lives). This is true more than ever!
@drjervin#EDUC2100 A3: Teaching in the 21st century means showing students how to use the quick and useful resources that we now have today to help them be problem solvers. What good are these resources if we don’t know how to use them to their full capabilities?
@HallieHeideman5@drjervin This is great especially for students who struggle with memorization! I think students will remember the process of solving an equation more if they feel that it can relate to them.
@drjervin A2 #EDUC2100 I can have Integrated Learning by Design by going on a field trip to a place that has to do with a topic the students just learned (especially for elementary students). For example, going to the local grocery store after learning about adding and subtracting money.
@GraceCooper18 @drjervin Hey Grace! I’m an early childhood education major too! I used quizlet all the time in high school. It is nice because you can share the quizlet that you’ve made with friends too. #EDUC2100
