@D2N76379@pooptraindepot@Squeeze1i Of course and agree- after you grant the person “the floor,” so to speak, to express themselves, their feelings and their stories, being a good listener, without jumping in immediately to make it about you which is most people’s communication choice.
@pooptraindepot@Squeeze1i I appreciate your thoughtful response. It’s not insincere to make the focus only about the person that is expressing themselves. Be well!
@janellemft@Squeeze1i Someone sharing a story is not asking you to share your story in that moment. It’s not about you. Respond to their experience, not yours. Society is not taught how to implement active listening but should be.
@DebsValidation@Squeeze1i Sit with them where they are. It’s not about you and your unfortunate experience. It’s about them. “I’m here for you,” “how can I support you?”, “I’m really sorry this happened to you”, “I don’t know what to say but I’m here,” “I can see why you’d be so upset.”
@pooptraindepot@Squeeze1i The story is coming from them. The focus remains on them, not you. “I’m glad you had such a fun weekend”, “that’s great that it worked out for you”, “oh sorry to hear the event didn’t go as planned”, whatever. Etc.etc.
@GBillyfx When his trying to scare me didn’t work because I refused to react. They are so predictable yet too stupid to realize how “seeable” they really are.
@donotbullymepls Not a TS fan but this gave me pause. All or most women not only get this because of experience but are grateful that the psychological abuse, neglect and gaslighting have finally come into the light. Women have lived in silence and darkness for so long.
