@occamsriver That IS quite the adventure!

@TTExulansic The inner wolf girl tomboy craves that shirt
@occamsriver They ain’t ready to receive :(
I make efforts to bypass the different priors/authority issues using my underground, “peer” experiences. It gains some credit with clients who can tolerate the cognitive dissonance of my lived transgender experience.
With the young adults, with whom I have very little time or leverage, I encourage cognitive flexibility around the risk-reward assessment of using hormones/social transition/surgery to cope more than trying to convince them to stop.
My belief is that people are resilient and can overcome suffering and loss. I don’t want them to be harmed, but I also believe in their capacity to experience suffering from transitioning and reverse course once the cost outweighs the benefits.

The more time we spend around the opposite sex, the more compassion we can develop for them and humility for ourselves.
"Perhaps the reason young men and women are diverging on politics is not so much because they are being radicalised by the internet... but rather because they are failing to deradicalise each other through sustained, loving relationships in the real world".
—the wonderful Louise Perry in the @australian Weekend Magazine.
