@CarterMcNeese@claydon_calder Don't know about the sizing - you'll have to see that on the website - but the replies to the original tweet show that lots of people have ordered them from the US and Canada.
@GCSE_Macbeth At my last school it was 'The Graveyard Book' by Neil Gaiman (problematic now because of the author but the kids universally loved it - great for intro to gothic & the Bildungsroman) for Y7, 'Coram Boy' for Y8 and 'Purple Hibiscus' for Y9. The latter two more heavy going & dense.
@TrevorPTweets@EHRC Interesting that you invoke Virginia Woolf to buttress your argument when Woolf wrote an entire novel - 'Orlando' - where the eponymous protagonist transitions from a man to a woman.
Never stop saying "dozen" and "half dozen". Never stop using the word you read in an old novella. Never stop using your regional jargon. Don't succumb to an internationalized English stripped of its whimsy and romanticism in the name of streamlining global commerce.
@BabatundeOnabaj@theashrb When I got my PhD I didn't get taught anything. I spent the entirety of it doing my research. The only time I was in the classroom was when I was doing the teaching.
@Selah_UK@KirstieMAllsopp He's patently not though the best person for the job though, is he? Of the six candidates he's the only one without broadcast experience and apparently getting the job. So it seems that he's getting the job just because he's male.
@discoveryplusUK Trying to watch the final minutes of West Ham vs Brentford and everytime I turn on the app and select 'watch live' it just takes me to the start of the programme 3hrs ago. Utterly useless!
I think that if you’re going to write a piece in the Times urging the government to use and boost more AI, the fact that you are paid by a major AI company should be in the first sentence, or at least first paragraph.
I also think that the best scenario for AI is that it destroys millions of jobs with the prosperity, dignity and community that goes with them.
The worst scenario is the destruction of the human race - a fear openly expressed by an increasing number of senior and experienced AI engineers who are leaving the industry.
And somewhere in between a myriad of horrors such as yet more screen learning and screen addiction for our children.
But I do see that it will make rich men even richer. And that’s the most important thing of course.
Kick It Out statement:
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s comments are disgraceful and deeply divisive at a time when football does so much to bring communities together.
In addition to the inaccurate figures mentioned, it’s worth reminding him that Manchester United has a diverse fan base and plays in a city whose cultural history has been enriched by immigrants.
This type of language and leadership has no place in English football, and we believe most fans will feel the same.
