We now have this packaged in Amazon Linux 2. Comes with script that will try to apply the hotpatch to running JDK8 and JDK11 JVMs on install, plus a cron job that looks every 30 min.

yum install log4j-cve-2021-44228-hotpatch

Not a substitute for updating log4j.

Seriously, this is an insidious flaw, it's a bug that WANTS to be triggered. Everything, everywhere, needs to be patched, no matter how deep in your infrastructure it is.
