@astro_alexandra I’m disappointed females are posting this. Selection is all about timing and opportunity. They pick folks based on the goals for that flight and skill set. They have to consider who has just returned from ISS, who is up there now, who is going next. Stars have to align.

@dniclayton It wasn’t only about qualifications. It was about who is the best and who is available. There are many many missions being planned. Some of the best are on ISS, have just returned from ISS, are scheduled for ISS. It’s very complicated.

@MaryBowdenMD I’m in Texas and most high school graduations are outside in large stadiums when it is 90 degrees plus and 80% humidity. They have to start close to 8 pm just to escape some of the heat. I’ve seen people pass out and need assistance. So, yes, it is ok to be a bit casual.
