@dburka Early stage startups can change dramatically in 18 months. I don’t hold it against people who jumped from early stage companies if there’s a clear reason (strategy shift, lack of values alignment, etc…).
@MikeMacCombie In our friend group, we’ve gotten into the habit of asking “aggressively intrusive questions” over dinner. Stuff like “what’s something your parents did you don’t want to repeat?”. It’s *so* much more interesting than the usual dinner chat and a great way to build deep bonds.
@TonioDeSo Nope! A handful of our friends in Puerto Rico are 40+ and learning to surf. Come to Puerto Rico! Lots of good beginner breaks with lessons, board rentals…and turtles ;)
If you’re looking to land your next startup leadership role or accelerate your path at your current one, apply to be considered for the community below 👇

@schlaf We talk about this a lot in Execs on Deck! I agree with @CG_SF_NY - seek 1:1 intros wherever possible and follow the threads. In my experience, recruiters often aren't as helpful as execs think they will be, especially if you're trying to make a pivot (new industry, etc..).

@halfrealjini @beondeck@cartainc Hey! The focus will be helping exec-level employees understand their equity, but we'll touch on this a bit as there's of course some overlap :)
