@RadioFreeTom I loved reading that piece. Well-written and prescient. Except this line, while true at the time, turns out not to have held up as well: “Vance, so far, is less of a hazard to American democracy than aspiring authoritarians like Cotton or Hawley.” Would that it were still true!
@SketchesbyBoze The Buffalo Hunter Hunter, by Stephen Graham Jones. I haven’t finished it yet, but I doubt I’ll regret recommending it. (It was on President Barack Obama’s list of books he read this past summer.) It’s a vampire novel, but it’s also much more than that.
@nprscottsimon May his memory be for a blessing. Condolences to Mr. Goodwyn’s family and his NPR family. I loved hearing his reporting and his storytelling ability.
@robreiner So true—that first Father’s Day after losing your dad is really tough. It gets a bit better, of course, but each one after that first one is certainly bittersweet.
@PoppyRN@FITFUNFREE@PatinkinMandy Oh, thanks! I didn’t even know I was looking for it. But once I saw it, I realized I’d been looking for it for a long time.
@KathleenMG@petersagal Deep condolences on the loss of your husband, who must have been an extraordinary person and a delight to know. May his memory be for a blessing.
