In 2020, one of the main reasons I voted for Joe Biden was because I wanted trump out of office.
PERIOD.
Don't get me wrong: I knew Joe was a good guy, and he had a ton of useful experience in politics as well as in the White House, but he wasn't my first choice, and I wasn't expecting much.
But NOW I'm voting for Biden in November mainly because he blew my expectations of him all the way out of the damn water.
He's already the most legislatively successful President in the modern era, having signed key consequential bills into law, like the Infrastructure bill, the PACT Act, the CHIPs Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act.
Now, millions of Americans have insulin capped at $35/month.
The infrastructure bill is so good that Republicans who voted against it are clamoring to take credit for the funds going into their states.
He recovered and created a total of 15 million jobs. The last time unemployment was under 4% this long, we put a man on the moon for the first time.
Here's a new one, that not a lot of people are talking about, but it's a BFD: if you've ever had a flight delayed for hours or canceled, or lost your luggage, you'll love this: automatic compensation, within 20 days, and you don't even have to spend hours on the phone to make it happen.
He's gone after bullshit junk fees that companies charge us, death by a thousand cuts of mystery, mounting fees.
I prefer my President to be hard-working, compassionate, intelligent, and thoughtful.
I prefer my President to respect our NATO alliances, and the role we play in the world.
I prefer my President to respect our fallen soldiers, and not to see them as "suckers and losers."
I prefer my President who wants to leave the world, and his office, in better shape than he found it.
I prefer President Biden. 🙏💪
@sherrilee77@BeschlossDC@Eydie03299116 I was 14 too. Sooooo disappointed and shocked when Ford pardoned Nixon. I had avidly followed the Watergate hearings.
A brilliant response by Timothy Snyder to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s accusation of Nazis in Ukraine. As a leading scholar on the subject of nationalism, Snyder makes three points:

BREAKING: Congressman Jamie Raskin just released this devastating clip highlighting all the times Trump praised world dictators. Retweet to make sure all Americans see.
BREAKING: Donald Trump just claimed he didn’t try and cut Social Security and Medicare while in office. Retweet to make sure all Americans know every year in office, Trump proposed cuts to Social Security and Medicare and it was Democrats who stopped him.
Dear NYT Editor,
Here’s how true journalism rolls:
“The north star here is truth. We tell the truth, even when it offends some of the people who pay us for information. The truth is that Donald Trump undermined faith in our elections in his false bid to retain the presidency. He sparked an insurrection intended to overthrow our government and keep himself in power. No president in our history has done worse.”

@nazarioanglim @SamJuneau@Imagecaptured@jerZboyUSA There was, but the Republicans killed it. It was supposed to be $35 for everyone, but it is only for seniors now. Vote Biden back in, deliver the House and Senate to the Democrats to get $35 a month for everyone, and to save Medicare and Social Security.
A “duty to warn” group of former Trump advisers with eyewitness accounts of his intellectual limitations and emotional state during his presidency should band together, submit op-eds, make media appearances and cut ads that argue against his election. https://t.co/eA3UQd8Yis
@FilbertCobb@spooked75 My husband has a similar story. Born in Kharkiv in 1933, wound up in labor camp at age 11 in Halbturn. You might like his book: The Long Vacation: A Memoir https://t.co/9GnpDV0DG6
