So thankful that local architect and Brown School parent Dana Zausch came to talk to 7th graders today about architecture and scale drawings. Loved seeing the kids see the math we study in school come to life. @Brown_Principal
I haven’t tweeted in a long time, but I think this is totally worthy. When it comes up in third block on Friday that you need a “math-magical” wand and then a student brings you this on Monday!
@ahigdonjcps@JCPS_MS_Math Using Desmos this week was amazing - so many great tools and features for distance learning! Feedback within the activity, ability to pace students and not to mention how nicely it pairs with the Open Up/IM curriculum! #jcpskymath
Love this blog post - Humanizing mathematics is something I want to get better at each school year! Worth the read especially at the beginning of a new school year!
I didn't get accepted to do a live synchronous session at CMC South, so I decided to convert my talk into a blog post, just because I still wanted to share.
Hope you enjoy my talk: Humanizing the Math Classroom. https://t.co/L1RlydEPik #cmcmath
@allison_krasnow Would you mind to share the link to your Desmos activity that you created for this? I would love to see how you put it all together! Thank you for sharing your amazing ideas!
@mrsstipemath It was a wonderful session! Thank you, Morgan! I’m watching for info for come out on the 90 minute session you referenced in today’s training!
@TmonroeEdu I would love to hear your ideas on how you are thinking of incorporating it into math! I’d love to as well, but just can’t come up with a natural fit!
@misscalcul8 I was just having this conversation with some colleagues! Their behavior is so much better for the teachers they fear. But that’s not me. If you ask them to do something nicely, they don’t respond and try to take advantage...🤷🏻♀️
