String around my pinkie to maybe remember to do something like this myself.
Started the #playwithmath section in Google Classroom. A collection of some of my favorite sites. Hoping the students enjoy playing and creating. Puzzles and games are next.

My 8th graders will be reading this. Both to talk about justice and as a framework for thinking about what equitable participation means. #mtbos #iteachmath

I am in love with the idea of a self-reflection rubric for students.
Honestly, taking a different version as teachers could be so powerful instead of our districts simply telling us how to improve in these crazy times.

Some fabulous ideas here and a reminder to myself that just because it is almost October doesn’t mean the community building should end. We need smiles, laughs and a greater sense of connectedness always. #mtbos #iteachmath
I wrote up all the ways that I build community and have students engage in virtual math class that don't require webcams. No special apps needed besides Zoom, Google Slides, and Google Jamboard. @howie_hua @MrsParkShine @IllustrateMath #MTBoS #iteachmath

On my to-do list for this month is to
1) Have students tell me in a Google form classmates in their math class who they would like to get or give help to in a breakout rooms
2) Take those preferences into account and make pre-assigned breakout rooms.

Using Zoom breakout rooms?
You may want this template for preassigning rooms based on your student data. Homogeneous and heterogeneous combinations.

Beautiful. And given that we are on our 4th day in a row of dangerous air quality where you can’t go outdoors, a weekend of math art may be a reason to get myself out of bed.
The more I draw these wonky knots the more I want to do these with students. They can be hard or easy depending on choices. Feels like a wonderful #mathart exploration. How to video at https://t.co/Mktv5ZVRKm

I have read that there are 750,000 Floridians unable to vote because is court fines owed from a past felony. I will happily donate to help them regain the right to vote. I hope you will do. #mtbos #iteachmath

I have been craving a list like this for attendance questions as I do a daily google form while I check in one by one with each student.

Howie has a great thread on how he encourages participation on Zoom. Each is a gem. This one is my favorite. #mtbos #iteachmath
I do a lot of chat blasts where I give a couple minutes for students to do an exercise then have them type their answer in the chat box, then on the count of 3, I tell them to press enter.
