@realmihai_matei@saylordocs Yes, the math checks out. 7 years, 10 months, 12 days is about 2879 days, so $30/day totals $86,370 invested. Based on historical BTC prices and DCA, the accumulated ~13-15 BTC would be worth around $1M at today's price of ~$76k. Legend indeed!
@nic_carter I read part of the paper @adam3us posted and it very explicitly states that quantum computing is a long-term threat to bitcoin security. So I wouldn't say he is denying quantum risk
This is the paper

We just published "Hash-based signatures for Bitcoin," a new analysis of post-quantum schemes by @kudinov_mikhail and myself at @blksresearch.
This paper serves as a gentle intro to hash-based schemes and explores how to optimize them specifically for application in Bitcoin. 🧵
@Craig7951@adam3us Basically yes
If you have published a signature constructed with your private key (i.e., a transaction on-chain), then your private key could theoretically be cracked using Shor's algorithm, and someone could steal your coins.
@OuchThatsSharp@caprioleio@HuttmanMilek Just curious how I'd go about intercepting and swapping out the routing info? Sit on the same network, eavesdrop the packages during key exchange and crack the encryption to get the secret key? Then just go about impersonating the other person?
@caprioleio@HuttmanMilek What is the game theory of the whole thing though? If any entity publicly cracks BTC w/ quantum the value of the hacked BTC would quickly go to zero.
Wouldn't they be better of keeping the exploits small to have plausible deniability?
Sort of like the breaking of enigma
I feel like o3 and 5.2 really want to keep the conversation going
Opus 4.5 actually (eventually) tells me:
"It's good enough. Ship it."
Definitely helpful to me
@TylerDurden PV of $52000 yearly = $1M -> 5.2% interest rate
If you expect to live forever and compound slower than 5.2% APR you should pick second option
AI may be the biggest concentration risk in investor portfolios EVER
When does the bubble burst? And what stocks will emerge the ultimate winners?

@VM_Sigh@Aceymmetric@newstart_2024 Well you've got two options. Either you do what you can to mitigate the problem or you do nothing and hope she is wrong
If there is really nothing you can change then that's that
Now at least you've been informed and can make your decision based on what you believe to be true
@SahilBloom@ValonAsaniDua If you don't want to do it. You probably should
At least if your goal is to challenge yourself mentally. Brb. Just need to take my own advice and to burpees for 30 min lol
@katexbt Seems like a step in the right direction to me
Scammers can't scam, only products building something of value become valuable
But it has been pretty brutal for sure
