You go to a car show thinking you’ll see a few shiny Chevys, some loud Mustangs, and at least one fellow explaining carburetors to anyone trapped within earshot.
But no matter what anybody says, you cannot tell me that isn’t Jackie Gleason chasing the Bandit through the parking lot. 💛😂
@giaotvu@XH_Lee23 The mechanics is not too different really and is the key - energy consumption and noise generated. Not giving any ideas to commies in china.
Our CEO asked me to fix the printer in his office.
It had a paper jam.
I fixed it in approximately 40 seconds.
Then I made a mistake.
I asked if there was anything else bothering him about it.
He said it was “kind of slow.”
The printer produced 42 pages per minute.
I told him I'd investigate.
That afternoon I submitted a request for a $31,000 enterprise multifunction printing system.
Procurement rejected it immediately.
I changed the justification from “executive printer replacement” to “Executive Document Continuity Infrastructure.”
They asked what happened if we didn't replace it.
I said senior leadership could experience degraded access to physical business records during high-volume periods.
Approved.
The new printer prints 75 pages per minute, staples automatically, folds booklets, scans 240 images per minute, and contains a 10-inch touchscreen powerful enough to operate a small spacecraft.
The CEO has printed seven pages since installation.
Yesterday he told me he couldn't believe how much faster it was.
I checked the logs.
His largest print job was a two-page boarding pass.
Finance is now asking whether we should standardize the same model across all four offices.
I told them that would be excessive.
Some of us take cost control seriously.

Whatever, stuff shut organ down, me die. Other stuff prevent it, me no die.
It all happened so fast, and my organs don't know their names either.
