They/Them | Combat Animator, looking to grow and see how far I can get. Someday I'm going to make my own fighting series. Critique is always appreciated.
@RicardoJonesT@2XKOIntel Okay but like... what would sett do that you havn't seen in every other fighting game? I'm trying to imagine it, but guy who punches seems like the most boring fighting game character thematically. Lee Sin would be far better I feel like.
@BobbertFilthy@BigBadBear_ I fully agree I don't want another ranged character in the game either, but I don't see Draven or Senna as a ranged character in a fighting game. Even Caitlyn wasn't really a zoner, more of an all rounder with many tools.
@senpaiquadry@lowtigerr94936@FGC_Daily Also i'm seeing some really cool smear frames, but not much squash and stretch, and not many inbetweens, goes back to frame timing and exaggeration, it's just not really there from what I'm lookin at.
@senpaiquadry@lowtigerr94936@FGC_Daily I'm more advocating for unique styles of particles and effects on different hits, it doesn't need to look crazy, but looking so samey feels not as interesting as it could I'd say. Games like Skullgirls or Blazblue really nail this feeling!
@AllFenom@lowtigerr94936@FGC_Daily As an indie fighting game keyframe animator, I think I could do better tbh Not in illustration but in movement. The animation timing is lacking, the flow and arcs aren't expressive, at least as much as I would like to see. To me it looks stiff and dull.
@senpaiquadry@lowtigerr94936@FGC_Daily it's the lack of effective animation timing, stiff posing, and lack of expressive arcs and motion. Also the hit effects are too similar and just use a simple blur burst with some particles. It's bland all around.
@AlldayndNight@lowtigerr94936@FGC_Daily In order for it to flow better, they needed more focus on arcs and frame timing. As it stands it's just not high quality 2D animation
