Brexit was 10 years ago.
In hindsight, all economists were right, and we will look upon Brexit as one of the worst policies passed in my lifetime.
The average British person is almost certainly significantly poorer, unhappier, and less protected now.
@BasedIllinoisan Conversely Democrats could only win 4 counties in Illinois or Nebraska (out of 102 and 93) and still narrowly win statewide.
Illinois: Cook, Lake, Champaign, DuPage
Nebraska: Douglas, Lancaster, Sarpy, Thurston
@BasedIllinoisan Here is what a tied result would look like in every state based on a uniform swing from 2024.
The states where Dems would win the majority of counties in a tie or narrow loss are:
Rhode Island: 4/5
Hawaii: 3/5
Massachusetts: 8/14
Alaska: 16/30
South Carolina: 24/46

@GBPolitcs This isn't true. George Floyd has been mentioned in Parliament 99 times since his murder six years.
Henry Nowak has been mentioned 30 times since his murder. All but one of those mentions were this week, once there wasn't a risk of prejudicing his murderer's trial.
@TomHulme79 It also isn't true. George Floyd has been mentioned in Parliament 99 times since his murder six years.

@souljagoyteller Hitler declaring war on the United States after Pearl Harbor is probably the dumbest move by a great power given it was a completely unforced error, did nothing to achieve his war goals, and made the total annihilation of the Third Reich inevitable.
@Colin00007@IainDale She was referring to the People's Revolutionary Government of Grenada which came to power through a coup, suspended the constitution and parliament, and never held any elections.
@oh_uw_oh @ElectionMapsUK In 2011 they added -upon-Thames to the end of the town's name to try and distance themselves from Ali G.

@gelliottmorris As for PR. It will only happen if a majority of MPs believe PR will beneficial to their party in the long-term. That's rare because all sitting MPs won under FPTP. But if polls still look like this in 2028, I think MPs probably would change to PR.
@gelliottmorris What is causing this is that public perceptions of Conservative governments from 2022-2024 was so consistently and overwhelmingly negative that it may have permanently discredited the party. And the same thing may now be happening to the current Labour government.
