Madame Vice President you ran a great campaign. In 107 days you introduced yourself to the American people and defined what disqualified your opponent. You raised a billion dollars within a matter of days and put together a coalition of the most diverse group of American citizenry. You presented a measure of hope and optimism while displaying intelligence and discipline. You were pragmatic, deliberate, insightful, inspiring, and positive. You were the epitome of a political scientist and your campaign left everything on the field. You were our last best hope for an American aesthetic that millions of us are in pursuit of. I am honored to have been a part of this campaign and I look forward to working with you further to protect our democracy and form a more perfect union. May the ancestors give you enlightenment. May God continue to bless you all the days of your life. Thank you for your service.
The Vice-President has the values and political skills to build on the successes of the Biden Administration and to help end, once and for all, a poisonous era defined by Donald Trump. Our editors endorse Kamala Harris. https://t.co/cqhnfm3uKl
The annual Global Week for Action on NCDs (Oct. 15-22) raises awareness about diseases that create devastating burdens on the poorest regions of the world, yet are largely absent from global health funding priorities. It's #TimeToLead and #ActOnNCDs https://t.co/ewQ2E4Ns3Y

I got to join Mayor @JonMitchellNB at the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament this weekend. Turns out we’re a great team behind the counter. Thanks for a great afternoon New Bedford.
If we assume case rates in major cities are reflected in departing planes... that's AT LEAST 1 person with COVID on each flight. If each of them infects their (unmasked) row, and risk of long COVID is 5%... that's ~1 unlucky person on every single flight getting long COVID.
🚨I wrote about the millions of people who lost loved ones to COVID, what they've gone through, and the many factors that have intensified and prolonged their grief.
This piece is my attempt to honor those we lost, and the many more who love them. 1/

I’m in Shanghai, like many, I have been in lockdown for weeks (doing okay on food). I don’t have any on-the-ground info, so I made a brief timeline of Shanghai’s current covid outbreak to keep myself sane and things in perspective [thread]:
Partners In Health is incredibly proud to work with the Sierra Leone Ministry of Health (@mohs_sl) to strengthen mental health care, including at the country's only psychiatric hospital, and to have it highlighted in the @nytimes. Read the story by @snolen https://t.co/DDfV83AKDM
1. Something interesting is happening with #COVID19 in MA, where case incidence appears much higher right now in wealthier suburbs. My guess is one of two things is happening, neither of which bodes well. 🧵
The terminal is slated to open in March 2023, and will provide storage, laydown yards for equipment and materials and berth facilities for tug and barge operations, and host crew transfer vessels and service operation vessel support services. https://t.co/3m3EklrscX
I read Paul Farmer's excellent work while writing his obit @Nature. Here's a 🧵 of some of lines I highlighted from his papers & books.
