@TJKemp_@NationUnitedLC@KyleHarrison18@ChazzWoodson@ILPreps@TerenceFoy (2/2) in college. He like you is considered “raw”, which is to say he is only scratching the surface of his game. He isn’t close the finished product that his athleticism allows for, and like you, his best lacrosse may even be well after college. That is how I view “raw”.
@TJKemp_@NationUnitedLC@KyleHarrison18@ChazzWoodson@ILPreps@TerenceFoy TJ as someone who produced similarly at he same HS, played college lacrosse at a top level school. Who’s game, although different from Carter’s, was essentially described the same, admittedly more eloquently, by coach Breschi (see below) and only produced 11 goals (1/2)
@TJKemp_@NationUnitedLC@KyleHarrison18@ChazzWoodson@ILPreps@TerenceFoy He has yet to be highly productive at the high school level as well. He scored 18 goals. Until he develops offensively and learns better diagnosis of slides and cleans up his release, he projects as a defensive prospect. We will continue to watch, that is our evaluation.
@TJKemp_@NationUnitedLC@KyleHarrison18@ChazzWoodson@ILPreps@TerenceFoy This isn’t a race thing. His “skills” are raw. Stick is still choppy, mechanics aren’t polished. He also hasn’t played the game his entire life, so there is nothing wrong with that. Raw is a compliment, it infers that he has that much upside to improve with steady D-1 coaching.
@danarestia Valid, but just found it interesting that besides bringing in a deep 2019 class the Buckeyes have remained disregarded and classed as second tier program by recruits after nearly winning a championship only two years ago.
@CFJastrzembski I’m not saying that it is or isn’t better for players, just saying that if a generational talent hadn’t of committed to a non traditional power as an 8th grader. Then coaches would not have actively gone out of their way to change the rules.
@CFJastrzembski Let’s call a spade a spade. That rule was put in place because Brennan O’Neill committed to Penn State in 8th grade. It should be called the “O’Neill Rule”. There were a lot of coaches that were mad they didn’t have a crack at him early. So they altered the game. That is fact.
