Got some feedback from @innolang on the one-on-one tutor support for Premium+ and it is just via messaging, and not a live videocall at all.
Looks like you can send recordings as well as written notes for corrections. Doesn't make me jump to upgrade.
@kubacki__ It doesn't have any grammar explanation but focuses on teaching the alphabet and common phrases with cultural notes. So it is a nice companion resource but not a comprehensive textbook in my opinion.
Time to start searching out a tutor for Persian. I've always relied on @italki but has anyone tried the Premium+ Pod 101 that includes 1-2-1 tutoring.
Can't figure out how often you get to meet the tutor from their website.
@kubacki__ At the moment I'm using Tuttle's "Farsi for Beginners" for dialogue practice and "Persian of Iran Today" from the University of Texas to double down on alphabet and phonics. I wish to use the Assimil system but I don't have a good level of French so I would be distracted.
@lingosteve@justleyla Perhaps I'm getting a spelling correction, and I might have thought there were two different words at play. I'm self-studying at the moment, but you're right, I need a native speaker or tutor to bounce these questions off.
Grammar query: I often mix up two prepositions in Persian: آز and از
What's the difference?
How can I keep them straight in my head?
[FYI I'm a beginner, for context]

@kubacki__ I'm kind of rebooting my study habit. I had a lot on with work for the last 8 months or so. I'm determined to finish the two current textbooks I've got before I start new materials and find a tutor.
@lindiebee I've tried Drops too, but I find their vocabulary collections bizarre. As a beginner in Persian, the "tea and coffee" essentials words include things like "brew time" and "coffee grinder" but nothing useful like phrases or asking for sugar, milk etc.....
Such wonderful news that Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Anoosheh Ashoori are on their way home. Family, freedom and peace 🕊 #NazaninZaghariRatcliffe#NazaninFree

In the midst of a massive clear-out (which is serendipitously coinciding with the new year) and came across all my German learning materials from 2018.
Definitely saving for another round in the future!
The joy of re-discovering books!
Just wondering if anyone on #langtwt has made a language account on TikTok? I've seen a lot of teachers take up the platform and some people posting as polyglots.
I'm happy to follow anyone starting out there!
