IGMs should fill any posts not taken by traniees here thats how it works in everybother country. If there aren’t any posts for IGMs then maybe its question of not enough jobs generally

Its not excluding IGMs, how would you change the system then ? Go back to how it was before where essentially uk grads unable to get training jobs?

Drs want to progress and get trained. People shouldn’t be berating doctors for wanting to be prioritised for training jobs, we wouldn’t expect to be priority

@doctoraligator @TheBMA Then there needs to be more funding given for jobs in the NHS. But unfortunately there isn’t enough money in the NHS for training places and LED jobs. Surely its better to have more people in training?

The same way if youve not done medical training in the uk or done foundation programme you shouldn’t be priority over those that have. Taxpayers money pays for training doctors. Its not rigging

@joezif @doctoraligator @TheBMA That I do agree it shouldn’t have been done mid cycle and prior to applications but it’s not fair that taxpayers money goes on training uk grads and they don’t get priority in the country where they have trained.

@theveindoc We don’t earn £52000 straight out of uni this is all lies it’s more like 32000 basic and 40000 if ur on a job with nights/oncalls please stop spreading misinformation

@Adejibo we can respect IMGs without putting UK grads down. At the end of the day virtually every other country prioritises their own grads first, the UK was just late to implement this. It’s nothing against IMGs but a lot of taxpayers money goes into training UK grads.

@OliverRyanUK Your saying all of this but you do realise that the public needs doctors more than doctors need the public we can get jobs anywhere in the world where we are actually appreciated it’s only good will doctors want to work in the nhs

@sophielouisecc It’s not just about pay Sophie, 30,000 doctors applied for speciality training for only 10,000 jobs we cant get jobs yet the nhs is so understaffed, training for doctors is appalling aswell a lot needs to change its not just about money
