Koree Cotton, a 6-6, 210 lb. junior guard from UTRGV, is transferring to DePaul.
Cotton averaged 13.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game for the Vaqueros. He shot 40.3 percent from beyond the arc.
He has 1 year of eligibility remaining. Cotton earned Southland Conference first-team all-conference and all-defensive team honors.
Cotton chose DePaul over interest from Miami, Kansas, Kentucky, USC, Providence, High Point, and Ole Miss.
Don’t wanna take away from Chris Holtmann & DePaul this is awesome for the Blue Demons
More building toward rebuilding the program. Very exciting 📈
Chris Holtmann is WIDE AWAKE. In the past 24 hours, he’s brought in two NBA-level talents—and over the last two years, he’s built this program into one that players like Magoon Gwath and Kahmare Holmes now see as a destination.
Hats off.

BREAKING: San Diego State forward Magoon Gwath has committed to DePaul.
The 7-foot-0 rising junior averaged 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks while shooting 43.5 percent from three-point range in 25 games in 2025-26.
Averaged 2.6 blocks for the Aztecs in 2024-25.
After seeing what’s happening in Nova and Georgetown (yes Lewis and Lewis are bigger names) but whole teams are leaving.
Holtmann continues to keep guys coming back that have potential, experience in his program and system and leaving lots of money left in NIL for some transfer guys. Last year kept his core of Benson Blocker, Gunn. Next year keeping Blocker, TPJ, Amsal, Flores, McClure. All guys that are cheaper but building the foundation brick by brick. People want to play for this man.
