Wegovy has a multiyear head start on trial data. Tirzepatide now has the supporting data but it takes a long time for official approval… it’s coming.
Most believe Reta will do the same, and early data supports, but it has a much longer road to non weight loss related approval. There is also concern the increased heart rate risk, which occurs with Wegovy but less severe, might disqualify heart patients.
