Rob Gronkowski says he lived off $50,000 as an NFL rookie because he understood the NFL meant "Not For Long"
"My agent gave me a $50,000 advance for what's going to come in the marketing world for myself. I just had to pay him back within the first $50,000 I made"
"I was able to purchase my first car, which was a 2008 Escalade, and then to be able to pay rent once I got to New England. And then from there on out, I really didn't need any other money"
"I was getting free meals at the facility. I just kind of needed gas money. You go out, the drinks are free or you pay for one, you get 10 free when you're when you're on the Patriots up in the Boston area"
"So I wasn't really spending much money at all, especially when it got to the season. I mean, you're inside that building and everything's handed to you on a daily basis from breakfast all the way to dinner"
"I just lived off my marketing dollars. I was living a low-level life. I had a condo with a roommate that was on the team as well. We're paying $1,500 a month in rent while in the NFL"
"I was very frugal and that's how I got away with it. Not having any lavish purchases, the first couple years in the league and just banking away what I was making because I truly understood that the NFL stands for not for long"
@All_22_NFL_Cuts@BBGreatMoments Definition of 5 tool player. Could have probably went pro in another sport too. He and Ron Gant have to be 2 looked absolutely impossing in their uniforms. Wiyh Bo Jackson number 1 obviously.
@cornellbelcher Even if it were the case, that’s still less than 20 percent. Teaching yo find any reason to deflect from the responsibility of White voters that got him elected.
Your role could have been to voter for Hillary Clinton and encourage others to do so to avoid this. But you didn’t. So the use of Baldwins words on this day ring hollow.
But that we would mean Dems would have to center the needs of Black voters and they have proven that is not their goal. The consultants don’t match the base and it shows with the candidates they are trying to push now. They’d rather lose going after white voters than win black.
John Roberts has sought to destroy the Voting Rights Act since the 1970s.
The warning was back in 2013 when the first gutting of VRA happened.
These people aren't playing and voters being stupid isn't an excuse.
Democrats should have made Voting Rights the A1 priority.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court has completed its decades-long project to destroy the Voting Rights Act. It has blessed racial discrimination and further encouraged partisan gerrymandering in the Callais ruling. 1/2
@cecile_shaw8@CBSNews@JanCBS Republicans are the Party of White interest. They’ve been trying to roll back every political advance from Revinstruction, Civil Rights, Rights and Affirmative They’ve are succeeding. Just Own it.
@cecile_shaw8@CBSNews@JanCBS That’s irrelevant. If republicans wanted more Black voters they would stop the racist polices and trying to reverse every Black advancement to Pre-Reconstruction America. This has nothing to do with party and more to do with trying to dilute black voting power. Just own it.
@Bmbempower It’s funny how quiet it’s been since the primary. It’s as if they were trying to get Crocket out of the race. I don’t see how this is close in November. I’m not in Texas so I could be wrong.
