Immigrants are not eligible for Medicaid. The only time an immigrant receives any sort of coverage is if they have a medical emergency - like a heart attack.

Because of our EMTALA law, anyone presenting to an emergency must be treated, regardless of insurance coverage.

When people who do not have insurance go to the hospital for an emergency, the hospital social services will assist them in applying for temporary Medicaid so the treatment will be covered.

This doesn’t necessarily help the patient - they weren’t going to pay anyway. Who it benefits is the HOSPITAL.

If you take away federal Medicaid payments from hospitals who provide emergency treatment to immigrants, you are forcing those hospitals to provide the treatment for free.

This will cause hospitals all over the country to close, especially in rural areas where they are already struggling.

You want hospitals to close? Keep voting for Republicans.

Good evening to all!

Before we sign off for the night on the East Coast, we ask for your understanding and continued support on a tough announcement that Charlotte had to make this evening - our original airlift budget of $775,000 had to be increased to $815,000 due to plane rerouting (the positive- now the animals do not need to change planes and be further stressed), and after the lab in England lost the tests (titre), they had to be were to Dubai (more expensive) amongst other surprises.

We have come this far - $756,000 far and will keep going until the last dollar is raised and the last furry friend is loaded onto the charter plane on June 2nd heading to a well-deserved 🏡 of their own.

These issues, which resulted in additional $$ now needed, are out of KSAR’s control. As we all know, with any project ‘quote’ - whether it be a car repair, a kitchen remodel, or a home build - the end price is always more than the ‘quoted price’.

While this is not an excuse, I just feel that everyone deserves an explanation - and we so appreciate your continued support, understanding and love for our animals. ❤️🙏🐾🐶🐱✈️🇺🇸

Samuel Alito is 74. Clarence Thomas is 75. Roberts and Sotomayor are 69. The next president may very well nominate replacements for multiple (if not all!) of these justices. If Trump is president, the Supreme Court is gone for the rest of our lifetimes. That means an all-powerful executive that can commit criminal acts with impunity, a nationwide abortion ban, no restrictions on firearms, a complete dissolution of the Voting Rights Act, election vigilanteism, legalized voter suppression, and so much more.

What we saw today at SCOTUS was a preview; it will be exponentially worse if Trump wins in November.
