This is powerful and honest. Thank you @AlinejadMasih for your grace and your courage and your advocacy.
You are a very important voice for women everywhere!
I asked American students why they don’t protest when women are whipped and shot in Iran and Afghanistan.
The answers expose a contradiction nobody wants to talk about.
We must change the narrative so the younger generation stops lending cover to Hamas, Hezbollah, Taliban and the Islamic Republic. That's why I choose to travel and speak to students face-to-face. I listen first, without judgment. Then I share what it means to live under Sharia law not as an abstraction, but as a lived reality.
Truth is not a phobia. Calling out the whipping of women is not hate. Staying silent about it is.
A woman attending a Kanye West concert wore the SS symbol proudly.
You can blame Kanye West's antisemitism on mental illness all you want. I'm not necessarily saying you are wrong.
But his fans do not have that excuse, and allowing him a platform after all he's done sends the message that it's okay to be antisemitic, that it will be tolerated.
We can not tolerate it.
Darializa Avila Chevalier was arrested at the Columbia protesters’ “Hind’s Hall” occupation, during which they took a custodian hostage.
Two custodians harmed by the protests later sued Columbia and the protesters themselves.
Now, her supporters are holding up that arrest as evidence of her credentials as a social justice advocate.
Make it make sense.
She has a law degree from Notre Dame, was fired from her law firm for publicly calling them out for not supporting Palestine after October 7, and at 29-years-old, made a total of $30K last year while being $250K in debt. And Democrats elected her to Congress.
More than 99% of @AOC campaign contributions came from outside her district. 86% were from outside of New York State entirely. She is bought by outsiders.
Now this is a video that has it all.
Bringing up PACs but only specifically mentioning AIPAC? Check.
Making extreme promises that she almost certainly cannot keep? Check.
Playing airhorns like this is a basketball game when talking about something they allegedly think is an actual genocide going on right now? That wasn't on the list but it is now. Check.
I see American politics are in a great place right now.
Ben Adler, an Australian Jewish klezmer musician, has faced relentless exclusion and bigotry following the October 7th Hamas attacks on Israel.
For example, for a gig scheduled before October 7th, the band re-branded itself as "folk" music to avoid trouble. After the Hamas massacre, the show was cancelled entirely.
After a festival dropped him because of “the nuanced situation overseas,” Adler shared the offensive letter with other Jewish artists. It leaked, and he was subsequently doxxed and added to a list of "Zios," a slur for Jews created by the KKK.
His band even receives abusive comments on their online videos, including on Yiddish songs that predate Israel's existence.
Ironically, klezmer, the music Adler's band Chutney plays, developed in Europe, at a time when Jews were forced to live in ghettos and excluded from other musical opportunities.
Klezmer was nearly wiped out by the Holocaust and has been revived in the decades since by dedicated Jewish artists.
Now, Jews in Australia are being targeted under the guise of "criticism of Israel," a charge Adler expertly rebutted in his testimony before the Commission on Antisemitism.
History may not repeat, but it certainly rhymes.
5,000 doctors from 46 countries signed a petition to the World Medical Association to act against discrimination and medical boycotts.
Their call comes after the British magazine The Lancet published a call to exclude Israel from the World Medical Association.
The petition, which was signed by doctors from Canada, Brazil, Germany, Spain, France, and Italy, and more, states that "medical organizations should remain spaces for scientific and universal cooperation, and not serve as a tool for political exclusion."
The doctors added that the Lancet "completely ignores any role Hamas has in destroying the healthcare system in Gaza."
Several hostages testified to the fact that Hamas held them in hospitals. Hostage Noa Marciano was murdered by a Hamas doctor at Al-Shifa Hospital. He injected air into her veins. Her family was sent a video of the horrific act of violence.
Excluding Israeli doctors, whose research saves countless lives, from global medical institutions will do nothing to help Palestinians.
It will only increase the hatred Jews, including Jewish doctors, are facing.
Confirms what I’ve been saying:
Patriotism must transcend politics.
I’m deeply grateful and proud to be a citizen of this great country.
Happy 250th birthday to the best nation, now and forever. 🇺🇸
Congratulations to @MelatKirosCO on your hard-fought primary win.
We will take back the majority in November.
And House Democrats will aggressively tackle the affordability crisis, fix our broken healthcare system and end the culture of corruption in Washington!
Celebrating Melat Kiros without condemning her assertion that America had 9/11 coming is a profound failure of leadership and a complete betrayal of the victims of September 11. Your obsequious sycophancy won't save the Democratic Party. It will destroy it, along with your legacy.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has opened a federal civil rights investigation into the American Psychological Association over allegations of antisemitic discrimination.
According to the complaint, the APA promoted or tolerated practices that pathologize Zionism, failed to adequately address antisemitism within the organization, and treated Jewish mental health professionals differently from other affinity groups.
No profession should be exempt from federal civil rights protections. If these allegations are substantiated, institutions receiving public funding must be held accountable under the law.
An investigation into the NHS' maternity and neonatal services found "explicit antisemitic attitudes" among staff.
One Jewish person reported that they were told “Jewish people are sneaky," and many laboring women actively hide their Jewish identity because they are afraid of mistreatment.
I shouldn't need to say this, but I will. A woman in the middle of giving birth should not be worried that her midwife will find out she's Jewish and make her and her baby suffer.
And this isn't paranoia. It's not just hateful words. Look up the latest report on the NHS' maternity care; it outlines a "lack of a consistent standard of care." Some women are getting better treatment than others.
Combine that with the antisemitism, and it's not hard to figure out why Jewish women in the UK are scared.
Two years ago Heathrow staff claimed they wore Palestinian flag symbols on their uniforms to signal they spoke Arabic to travelers. Heathrow banned that after it turned out most of those who wore the Palestinian flag on their uniforms did not speak a word of Arabic, it was only a political symbol.
Now a security officer sues for “discrimination” after being told to remove her Palestine badge — claiming it’s like being forced to take off her hijab.
A tribunal just rejected her argument. But several pro-Palestine groups are looking for new loopholes to challenge the ban.
Heathrow must stand strong on this issue.
There can be no institutional tolerance for the very symbols that make Jews feel unsafe at one of Britain’s busiest airports.
Rep. Dan Goldman questions if NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani has a double standard after criticizing Israel but not other religious countries that violate human rights.
So we can't judge someone on their actions or their words, we have to know exactly what they were thinking when they did something?
Melat Kiros, a DSA-backed congressional candidate in Colorado, refused to call the Boulder firebombing attack antisemitic, saying she did not know what was in the perpetrator's heart.
Sorry to break it to you, but no one can read minds. Does that mean we can never accuse anyone of anything ever again?
"Why, when it's a Jewish woman, do you say it's propaganda? We are not politicians, we are survivors."
Ilana Gritzewsky should be able to recover and live her life now that she is free from Hamas captivity.
But how is she supposed to ignore the world erasing her trauma from the historical record?
I'm so in awe of the Hamas survivors who are refusing to be silenced. I just wish they didn't have to 💔
