@DavidKlion Wait, so you can’t question the wisdom of Maine primary voters but you completely ridicule the wisdom of the general election voters who elected Collins.
Whatever.
@SpencerHakimian You could at least read the rest of the paragraph. It is not a pardon nor is it unlimited in scope or in time. To know this all you need to do is read the full paragraph you highlighted.
@Ronpal808@VivekGRamaswamy He conveyed none of these ideas either explicitly or implicitly. Your claims are imaginary and a symptom of the ill he is addressing.
@nihilists4jesus I, for one, appreciate the post. It’s only sadness if you failed to do this when you could. Otherwise it’s nostalgic melancholy or wise wistfulness.
Democratic values are process values. You are trying to equate them with results. Even assuming you are correct about the content of the bill (and I dont think you are) it was the result of a democratic process. It is an example of Democratjc values in action. Complaining about democratic outcomes as not democratic because you don’t like the results is both wrong and tedious.
And your reference to objectivity is circular and repetitive. L
I have bad news for you. No one is objective. Right, left or center. Everyone legislates in his or her own interests. You are only squawking about lack of objectivity here because you don’t like the result (putting aside that you are mischaeacterizing the bill’s content). That’s why your standard makes no sense. If we only allow those who are truly objective to legislate, no one will legislate.
