Because it’s important for women to have a word that means female humans so that we can be protected in law and policy. We are biologically different from men, and we have different needs. If there is no word for us, then there is no way to address these needs, or to create laws which protect our rights.

I think you need to ask yourself why it matters so much to you that there should be no words that mean “female human beings.” When you take our words, you silence us – and I think that’s your goal.
