@RufusHound Brilliant. Having said that ive recently realised that if you remember those things you loved doing (not necessarily watching blind date😜) they can be a really great start to pursuing a career doing something you love 🤔🤩
@alexjmurrell I listed another dove campaign not realising you had too. Interesting that a brand that got it so right before and then so very wrong with their breastfeeding campaign. I wonder what research formed the basis for the insight and if it included behaviourial economics 🤔
@stefhamerlinck 🤣 yes to the first and last bit. I interpret that statement differently. You list why you choose yoghurt; but in my experience a comms plan will be different from a company without purpose than with 🤔 in the long term cx buy from the latter imo
@stefhamerlinck Product price place promotion - my purpose sets the tone for all these things. It’s not a campaign. It’s easy to do now I work for myself but motivating a team is easier when’s there’s meaning vs simply to make money.
@stefhamerlinck So back to the bit where Simon is talking to marketers and not consumers. If we’re clear on our purpose then we’ll always do right by our customers and not just be swayed by money ... it’s hard to follow this thread 🙈
@stefhamerlinck Yeah, I guess. I’m coming from a place where selling = trading. There’s a risk that growth targets outweigh the right thing to do by the customer. Imo that’s where Simon is coming from. I’ve seen it happen - money above all else which is just bad.
@stefhamerlinck So I have a clear purpose and that is at the heart of all my Ps. My comms otherwise would be very different I think. Maybe we should remember that Simon is not talking to customers but marketers. I think that makes a difference.
@stefhamerlinck selling stuff feels less caring about whether it was the right purchase or not. If you want customers to buy again then you’d surely take that responsibility. Most yoghurts taste the same so what tips you in favour of one. A brand who wants you to enjoy it or just sell to?
@JuiceboxCA @Dominatitude If you’re interested there’s a fascinating interview between him and @rustyrockets this week on Under The Skin. I was very surprised by the outcomes of some of their discussion points. It offers quite a different view of @LoganPaul imo. For the better vs previous media coverage.
@GrumpyAgencyGuy Too much. And what percentage of those actually have any credibility - it’s proportionate IMO. Eventually (humanity hopes) that people realise this. In fact you could ask what proportion of meetings are even necessary in the first place? Organised by exactly those people...
