This. It took me weeks post-positive PCR to be able to walk around the block without chest tightness and shortness of breath. Two months later, things are improving, but it has been really frustratingly slow. #COVID19
Let's talk a minute about the policing posture in Ottawa right now.
For starters: I don't think anyone really knows what's actually going on inside the Ottawa Police Service right now. (That includes many people inside the Service, I think.)
Premier @fordnation will lift vaccine passports on March 1st, knowing that kids under 5 are ineligible for vaccination and only 55% of kids aged 5-11 are vaccinated. The health and safety of our kids was not mentioned ONCE in his presser. I guess this is the "new normal".
#NEW: On Tamara Lich claiming "no deal"
@JimWatsonOttawa's office tells me:
"The Mayor’s office has had no communication with the group that would suggest such a development."
I'm assuming Watson's office does not follow her twitter feed. #Cdnpoli#Onpoli#Ottawa
The streets of Toronto are clear, the Ambassador Bridge is now clear, there have been protests across country in major cities and local police have been able to enforce the rule of law…@OttawaPolice has not been able to despite having weeks to prepare #cdnpoli#ottawa#onpoli
Before the blockades I spoke to multiple law enforcement & intel agency sources who said Ottawa Police were not taking things seriously & planned to treat it as a "traffic issue" despite publicly available evidence raising red flags this protest didn't fit the model of past ones
BREAKING: Ontario Premier Doug Ford was snowmobiling on Feb 5, as the City of Ottawa was under siege and dealing with an insurrection.
The premier acknowledged that he was at the cottage.

Truckers/protesters who HAVE NOT BEEN TICKETED FOR TWO WEEKS will soon face up to $100,000 in fines and a year in jail under @fordnation state of emergency #ottnews#OttawaOccupied#onpoli
Ontario Premier Doug Ford is declaring a provincewide state of emergency. He calls the demonstration in Ottawa 'an illegal occupation.' He adds: 'This is no longer a protest. With a protest, you peacefully make your point and you go back home.'
We have seen tweets circulating about protestors having the convoy drive past schools. This idea is unacceptable. Schools are places for learning, and the safety of students and staff should not be threatened.

Still at a loss about how governments - at all levels - have done next to nothing to shut this occupation down. Especially city officials. How is this still happening (and in some ways, getting worse)? #Ottawa
There was another "peace officer" swearing-in of protesters last night. Larger group who now claim they're empowered to detain and arrest as members of the Canadian Common Corps of Peace Officers.
It's going to take a while for #Ottawa residents to regain faith in municipal leaders/institutions. The last 14 days have been a mess. The staggering loss of control by those purported to be in control has shaken the city to its core. People are demoralized, disgusted & incensed.
#BREAKING: For 3rd time @fordnation gov’t has declined to participate in a meeting this aft of trilateral table set up by the feds to deal with the ongoing blockades in Ontario. A source w/ province telling @CBCNews “it doesn’t accomplish anything” #cdnpoli#onpoli
Canadian politicians have proved themselves willing and eager to lend credibility to this occupation — and that's been a real shot in the arm for those who don’t want a shot in the arm.
