Continuing with Kikuyu folklore creatures. Today are creatures that aren't part of the giants/ogres.
First up, Ndamathia.
A colossal, prehistoric river dragon or giant serpent covered in dark, heavy, armored scales. It is so immense that its body is said to match the length of the rainbows it creates, and it possesses prized, magical hairs or feathers growing at the very tip of its massive tail. It was found in the deepest, most sacred pools (ndũndũ) of major rivers, waterfalls, and mist-veiled basins within the Aberdare highlands and the forests surrounding Mount Kenya (Kĩrĩnyaga).
The Ndamathia is a deeply sacred symbol of divine power, weather control, and political legitimacy in Kikuyu culture. It is explicitly tied to the Ituĩka ceremony, the peaceful transition of tribal leadership that happened every 30 to 40 years. To legitimize a new generation of ruling elders, young warriors had to courageously venture into the waters, bribe or entice the beast, and pluck the magical hairs from its tail to use in their sacred inauguration rituals.

I see my lovely Nakuru county is on the list of counties in Kenya likely to be affected. The county government has already set up an early preparedness committee. If your county is on the list, you could check on its state of preparedness.

But, but, preparedness is NOT just for governments. It is also for private institutions and individuals.

Example — Project managers should review their project calendars to fast track aspects that could be affected by severe weather patterns. If you are writing or negotiating new contracts, you could take delays into account. If farming, water sensitive crops might be affected, tree crops might do better, may be? Alternatives will come in handy.

She was sick on Monday, taken to mbagathi hospital and afterwards referred to Kenyatta national hospital. She died Wednesday morning. She left behind three children, Daniel Wafula, Naomi and Gift.
