Outrage as Oyo WAEC Candidates Write WASSCE Practical Exam in Darkness
Concerns have been raised after candidates sitting for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Oyo State were reportedly forced to write their Agricultural Science practical examination late at night without electricity.
A video obtained showed candidates taking the examination in darkness, with some relying on lanterns and mobile phone flashlights to complete their practical tasks.
The development has sparked outrage among parents and other stakeholders, who questioned the conditions under which the students were made to sit for the examination. Many also expressed concerns about the safety and welfare of the candidates, especially given the late hour at which the examination was reportedly conducted.
Reacting to the incident, cleric Pastor S.O. Solarin criticised the late delivery of examination materials to some centres. According to him, the delay forced candidates to remain at their examination venues for several hours beyond the scheduled time.
Speaking in a video posted on his Facebook page, Solarin said reports indicated that some candidates had to wait for hours before receiving their examination papers, leaving them stranded at examination centres until nightfall.
He described the situation as disturbing, particularly in view of the country’s security challenges, including cases of kidnappings and attacks reported in some communities.
“It has come to our hearing that some of our students writing WAEC only received their examination papers now. Given the security situation in the country, WAEC officials need to explain why students are being kept at examination centres so late in the day,” he said.
Solarin called on the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to explain the delays to parents, schools and affected communities, while many Nigerians have continued to demand improved planning to prevent a recurrence.
It is deeply troubling to receive reports from parents across Ọ̀ṣun State that WAEC candidates are still sitting for examination papers as late as 7:00PM. These are young students who left their homes in the morning with the expectation of writing their examinations under normal conditions. Subjecting them to prolonged waiting hours, fatigue, anxiety, and potential security risks is unacceptable. Examination bodies have a responsibility not only to uphold the integrity of examinations but also to ensure the safety, welfare, and dignity of candidates.
This situation is particularly concerning given that similar incidents of delayed WAEC examinations have sparked public outrage in recent years, with candidates in some parts of the country forced to write examinations late into the night. WAEC itself has previously acknowledged that such situations fall below acceptable standards.
We call on the West African Examinations Council (@waecnigeria), the Federal Ministry of Education, the Ọ̀ṣun State Ministry of Education, and all relevant authorities to urgently investigate the circumstances responsible for these delays and put measures in place to ensure that no student is subjected to such hardship again.
Our students deserve better. Their safety, well-being, and academic future must never be compromised by administrative failures.

Pastor EAA is allowed to set the record straight. A lot of people rehash that lie every other day. You are well within your rights to criticize him for anything else. Just don't dismiss this especially if you embraced/helped spread the lie. Be fair and honest.
Today, I want to set the record straight about Daddy Adeboye.
The same energy some of you have used to attack a man who has spent over 50 years building a reputation for integrity in both ministry and life, use that same energy to share the truth.
1. Daddy Adeboye has never joined a political protest in Nigeria under any administration. Not under Obasanjo. Not under Goodluck Jonathan. Not under Buhari. Not under Tinubu.
Fact-check me. If I'm wrong, I'll delete this post.
2. The pictures circulating online of him holding placards were taken during a prayer walk he organized for church members in 2020. Those are the same pictures some people are now using to claim that he protested against Goodluck Jonathan.
The irony is that those pictures were taken during Buhari's administration, not Jonathan's.
Fact-check me. If I'm wrong, I'll delete this post.
Check the comment section. You'll find the link to that prayer walk.
3. Pastor Adeboye has never publicly endorsed or campaigned for any political candidate or political party throughout his years of public ministry.
Fact-check me. If you find a video proving otherwise, I'll delete this post.
What is most disappointing is that many of the people spreading this propaganda are not Muslims. They are people who call themselves Christians.
They go to church on Sunday, then spend the rest of the week spreading misinformation about men of God and the Church.
I pity you.
Very soon, you'll discover that life is bigger than impressions, engagements, and social media payouts.
If you want to criticize a man old enough to be your grandfather, at least have your facts right. Why tell lies about men of God and the church just to gain attention?
I see a lot of people even fellow christians saying things like “Adeboye Should come out and protest”. Protest how and why ?…his protest would make the soldiers get more motivation or what exactly would his protest yield ?. AT 84 year old he should come out and do what exactly.
First I need to state it once again that @PastorEAAdeboye never protested under President Jonathan, he came out on the 2nd of February 2020, obeying the directive of PFN and CAN for a National Prayer walk which other churches observed as well. That false narrative of him protesting under Jonathan is pathetic because some of us walked with him on the Streets of Ebute Meta just before the lockdown.
I’ve been seeing a false narrative going around of people saying @PastorEAAdeboye cancelled a protest, that is also false. PFN called for a 3 day prayer and rally, which @PastorEAAdeboye directed the Admin department of the church to follow as that was the directive of PFN. but when PFN said people should not protest in different locations but gather for prayers at state secretariats and hold the prayers in their churches, the RCCG Admin also released another circular updating members about the new developments as stated by PFN, so why the evil narrative that Adeboye called off the protest ?
We need to understand that the enemies have us exactly where they want us to be which is for us to be divided and insult those who have been appointed as Gatekeepers.
These evil doers carry out their evil, chanting praises to their god and even observe religious holidays and all, but we are not directing our anger to their Imams and their leaders. If their religion is truly a religion of peace, their leaders must take responsibility, start speaking up, lead protests because these evil people are also giving their religion a bad name.
The Government is responsible for security of lives and property not Pastor E.A. Adeboye !
The lies have gone on long enough. It stops now!!!
For far too long, Pastor E.A. Adeboye and The Redeemed Christian Church of God have been subjected to false narratives, deliberate misrepresentations, and misleading commentaries driven by personal interests and agenda setting.
Let it be clearly stated: Pastor Adeboye and The RCCG will not be defined by falsehood, and neither will the Church remain silent while inaccurate narratives are repeatedly circulated as facts.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God has designated channels and authorized representatives responsible for communicating official positions on behalf of the Church. Therefore, before accepting, sharing, or amplifying any claim concerning Pastor E.A. Adeboye or The RCCG, verify it through our official public relations platform, @rccg_pr.

The Government is responsible for security of lives and property not Pastor E.A. Adeboye !
Today, Sunday, 2nd of February, 2020, members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God led by her General Overseer, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, embarked on a prayer walk that will usher in a new dawn in our dear country, Nigeria.
The lies have gone on long enough. It stops now!!!
For far too long, Pastor E.A. Adeboye and The Redeemed Christian Church of God have been subjected to false narratives, deliberate misrepresentations, and misleading commentaries driven by personal interests and agenda setting.
Pastor Adeboye Did Not Protest Against President Goodluck Jonathan’s Government
A false narrative has been circulating online, accompanied by a photograph of Pastor E.A. Adeboye holding a placard during a public walk. The image has repeatedly been misrepresented as evidence that Pastor Adeboye led or participated in a protest against the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
This claim is FALSE.
The photograph in question was taken during a peaceful nationwide walk held in response to a directive issued by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) during the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari. Churches across Nigeria were instructed to hold peaceful walks after service, calling attention to the persistent killings of Christians and urging the government to take decisive action to protect lives.
The walk in Ebute Metta, where Pastor Adeboye participated, was part of that nationwide exercise. It was neither organized against President Goodluck Jonathan nor connected in any way to his administration.
Ironically, despite the significant media presence at the event when it took place, some of the same photographs have years later been recycled and falsely presented as evidence of a protest against a completely different government.
It is important to note that Pastor Adeboye’s message during the walk was clear: all lives matter to God. His placard emphasized the value of every human life, regardless of religious affiliation. The call was for the protection of innocent Nigerians, both Christians and Muslims.
Yes, Nigeria is facing enormous challenges, and citizens have every right to desire solutions. However, the growing demand that Pastor Adeboye should “command” the President or the First Lady on how to run the affairs of the nation is both unrealistic and unreasonable.
Pastor Adeboye is a clergyman, not the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Nevertheless, he has not remained silent.
During the November 2025 Holy Ghost Service, Pastor Adeboye publicly offered counsel to the President of Nigeria regarding the worsening security situation and the continued killing of innocent citizens by terrorists. He warned that urgent action was necessary before foreign powers found justification to intervene in Nigeria under the guise of combating terrorism.
He further advised that security chiefs should be given a clear ultimatum to decisively address the menace or vacate their positions.
In his words:
“When they eliminate the terrorists, ask them to eliminate their sponsors too.”
At 84 years old, Pastor Adeboye continues to provide spiritual leadership, moral counsel, and national guidance within the limits of his office as a minister of the Gospel.
For the avoidance of doubt:
• Pastor Adeboye cannot command the President or the First Lady on how to govern Nigeria.
• Pastor Adeboye and RCCG are not responsible for the current challenges facing the nation.
• RCCG is not a political party.
• Pastor Adeboye does not hold political office and was not elected into government.
• RCCG is not the religious arm of any political party in Nigeria.
Facts matter. Context matters. Truth matters.
Before sharing claims about Pastor E.A. Adeboye or The Redeemed Christian Church of God, verify them through RCCG’s official communication channels.

Have you ever noticed something quietly dangerous happening in church?
There are people who come every Sunday… but never actually attend the service.
They are there — but not present.
The security team is at the gate from morning till afternoon.
The ushers are busy arranging seats, guiding people, moving up and down.
The hospitality team is serving others.
The worship team sings powerfully… then disappears before the Word begins.
Media team comes to take pictures ,Livestream the service and does not attend the service at all
Even some pastors arrive only when it’s time to preach.
In the place of serving God is the easiest way to backslide .
Everyone is serving… but not everyone is receiving.
And here is the truth many don’t talk about:
One of the easiest places to backslide is not outside the church — it is inside the place of ministry.
You become so busy doing things for God that you forget to be with God.
You stop reading the Bible to grow…
and start reading it only to prepare sermons or posts.
You stop praying for intimacy…
and start praying only for power, results, and performance.
You stop sitting at His feet…
because you are always running around His house.
Remember the story in the Bible of Mary of Bethany and Martha of Bethany.
Martha was busy doing something good — serving.
But Mary chose something better — being with Jesus.
Martha was distracted with activity.
Mary was anchored in intimacy.
And Jesus made it clear… only one of them chose what truly matters.
This is where many content creators also fall into danger.
You listen to sermons, not to be transformed… but to create posts.
You study scriptures, not to encounter God… but to produce material.
You pray, not to commune… but to maintain influence.
It looks spiritual on the outside…
but inside, something is drying up.
And the most dangerous part?
You may not even notice it.
Because you are still active.
You are still visible.
You are still “useful.”
But heaven is not moved by activity — it is moved by relationship.
Never forget this warning:
“Many will say, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not do all these things in your name?’
And He will say, ‘I never knew you.’”
Not “you never served.”
Not “you never worked.”
But “I never knew you.”
That means it is possible to serve God… and still lose intimacy with Him.
So guard your heart.
Before ministry — choose Him.
Before service — choose Him.
Before platforms — choose Him.
Before influence — choose Him.
Make sure your secret place is alive.
Make sure your Bible is still speaking to you.
Make sure your prayers are still about relationship, not just results.
Because at the end of the day…
God is not just looking for servants.
He is looking for sons.
He is looking for lovers.
He is looking for people who will sit at His feet… even when there is work to be done.
Don’t lose God while working for Him.
Choose intimacy — every single time.
SEXUAL PURITY || NATHANIEL BASSEY
I beg of you, one of the things the Lord spoke to us two weeks or three weeks ago—you remember when we prayed as a church—God highlighted that the issue of sexual immorality in the church shall be judged. People of God, let me say this in love: there are too many believers involved in adultery, fornication, and sexual immorality.
I was praying one time—where was I? I think I was in Scotland. When I went for the prophetic conference, I was praying in the spirit and just waiting on God, and he showed me a picture of believers indulging in sexual immorality. They were across the road and I was on this side; two women and a man meddling with his private area and involved. I said in the vision, "If you do that here, I will curse you if I be a man of God."
Now, many times when God appears in a vision as a man of God, that is God. I sense that God is grieved. It is the will of God that we possess our vessels in sanctification (1 Thessalonians 4:4). We can't be speaking in tongues and sleeping around with people's husbands, people's wives, or singles with singles. I'm saying this in love. If you want me to be a genuine man of God, please allow me to speak the truth. I don't want to be the man of God that gives you sugar, sugar, "you'll be blessed." No, no, no. I fear God. I want to tell you the whole counsel.
I'm telling you, there is a reward. Revelation 22:12 (And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be) puts it this way: He says, "Behold, I come quickly." Let's read: "Behold, I come quickly and my reward is with me to give every man as his work shall be."
God has come with rewards, pleasant and unpleasant. My prayer is that we be caught on the pleasant side. Amen.
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒏𝒅...
This is a serious issue fighting our church, and I want to tell you that if you want God to use you in this generation that is one of the thing that you must run away from. It is one among the three F'S that distorys a man of God, the 1st is Female, 2nd Is Finance, and the 3rd is fame. Can you check your life right now, you may involve in this secretly, but God knows. Can you cry for your life right now, maybe you have fallen or you have not but can you cry for your life. God don't allow am to fall, make a cry!
