Keep me away from the wisdom which does not cry, the philosophy which does not laugh and the greatness which does not bow before children.

@houmayor While there is always room for improvement, Houston is a great city. The mayor should be at the forefront of communicating all that Houston has to offer- not sure “fixing” is the best message to send. Our city is not broken.
President Carter was one of my heroes, the embodiment of faith coming alive through the noble work of public service. His life’s project was human dignity and his long life will be outmatched only by the length of his legacy.
Well done, good and faithful servant. Well done.

Today is former Pres. Jimmy Carter’s 100th birthday. No other U.S. president has ever lived so long.

Happy 100th Birthday to President Carter!

My favorite factoid about Tim Walz is that during his career as a high school teacher, in the same year, he coached the football team to a state title AND served as the faculty advisor for the school's first gay-straight alliance (GSA) club.
@joysewing Born in Houston in the 60’s - first hurricane was Alicia in 1983. Entire childhood without a major storm. The frequency of major weather events, including freezes, has increased ever since. Are standby generators the new normal? I hope not. We must do better for all Houstonians.
If parents are the best decision makers for their kids and #txed#vouchers don't need accountability or transparency, then the #txlege should allow families on WIC or food stamps to decide what to buy? Right? Or does the #txlege trust some parents more than others?
