Right! When I emigrated to the US I did not have to include my summer job at Burger King from 1996, nor my high school weekend job at the Tartan Cupboard. 🤪
This whole absurd discourse is pretty clearly driven by people who never worked a summer fast food job or any other kind of fast food job. Because the idea that you're going to have pay stubs or a bank statement from 40 years in the past is seriously stupidest thing imaginable.

Sally Field detailed the "traumatic" illegal abortion she had in 1964 in order to encourage voters to elect Kamala Harris and protect reproductive rights: "We can't go back!"
“I’ve been so hesitant to do this, to tell my horrific story. It was during a time even worse than now. A time when contraception was not readily available and only if you were married. But I feel that so many women of my generation went through similar, traumatic events and I feel stronger when I think of them. I believe, like me, they must want to fight for their grandchildren and all the young women of this country. Everyone, please, pay attention to this election, up and down the ballot, in every state – especially those with ballot initiatives that could protect reproductive freedom. PLEASE. WE CAN’T GO BACK!!”

Man sits by me on train.
MAN: Loads of psychopaths around here
ME: Really?

ME: How'd you know?
MAN: There's signs aren't there?
ME: I guess?
MAN: I love them
(47 minutes of awkward silence.)
Man leaves train, he has a bike. I realise he was saying 'cycle paths'.

In the 80s, I went to London with my then husband Sam and we saw a play called “Lettice and Lovage” starring Maggie Smith.
At intermission, everybody got up to buy ice cream and go to the bathroom, but I sat in my chair and wept.
“Jennifer,” said Sam gently. “Why are you crying? Why are crying? It’s a comedy. Look around you. See? Everybody’s laughing.”
“I’m crying,” I sobbed, “because I’ll never be as good as Maggie Smith.
Rip Dame Maggie. 🕊️
@GammaCounter My brother told us on a Zoom a few weeks ago the first thing he’d eat in America would be a corn dog. My kid said “that’s sad”. That said I’ve been here +22 years and he has never visited so chances of that corn dog is slim.
@GammaCounter We’ve exclusively been listening to Taylor for about 10 months or so. At some point I assuming we will be allowed to listen to other people 🤣
