I think Kenyans should elect as president a native of NFD after H.E @WILLIAMSRUTO serves his two terms. If Kenyans vote wisely and elect such a candidate, Kenyans will be free from the silly periodic recycling of tired third-rate politicians and judges wasting our time with useless cliche rhetoric. Kenya needs fresh ideas and men and women outside the politican bonds of Kenya. It will also cool this toxic TRIBALISM that is unnecessarily tearing us apart. Lastly, it will kill the ethnic bigotry that has been embraced as an article faith by certain political elites and their blind tribal followers. Let us for once put our trust in NFD.
Sundays are for slowing down, reconnecting, and giving thanks. No matter what this past week looked like, may today be your reminder that new strength, new joy, and new hope are around the corner.
Wishing you peace, rest, and a heart full of gratitude this Sunday.

IN Raila Odinga's mind, the solution should be negotiated in a 25-member committee (9 appointed by him), specially gazetted, housed at the plenary of the KICC, with a budget, sitting allowances, secretariat (chairman and two deputy chairs one from ODM), several 4WD vehicles allocated for the Chairman and committee members, security guards, 10 o'clock tea outside the plenary, lunch at Serena, occasionally choir entertainment, selection of 5 subcommittees,
Then timeline allocation upto end of November and can be extended, a working document with some 15-point agenda which should be finetuned by a selected panel of lawyers led by Mwangi...koso koso... Report to be prepared at Whitesands hotel...
Baba, your time is long gone
MALINDI CITY IS DEAD!
Last week, we spent three days in Malindi. Other than the excellent food we experienced in every restaurant we went to, Malindi City’s 700 Years History is on the precipice. Its streets are cluttered with shanty kiosks. Its historical buildings are in ruins. There is poverty all over. All hotels except three or four are shuttered. I guess, we were the only tourists in town!
Vasco Da Gama, the richest Ambassador in History found Malindi a place to call home. So did St. Francis Xavier, co-founder of the Jesuits. And Ernest Hemingway, the most influential English writer of the 20th century found a place to write his epic Old Man & the Sea! Then the Italians took it over for decades.
The fall of Malindi begun when rural Kenyan traders decided to set up shanty kiosks in front of every hotel and restaurant. And when County Government officials extorted from the Italian community resident. Italian community left. Other Europeans moved out of the town. A city that was an oasis for foreigners that brought money became a ghost town of those that only wanted to extract from it.
Had Kenya learnt how Indonesia ringfenced Bali, Jamaica to Montego Bay & Thailand did to Phuket, we would have saved Malindi.
Malindi is now a city of prostitutes with no market. Shanty kiosks with no customers. Clubs with no revellers. Hotels with no customers. Beautiful beaches with no tourists. Stray dogs with no shelter. Malindi is a sad statement of all that has gone wrong in our tourism sector.
Hopefully, one day, a leader will reinstate the glory of Malindi.
Because fear is gone, let me tell you about our dismissed Finance Minister Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u. As Central Bank Governor, he fell out with President Uhuru Kenyatta. The Government was going to arrest him on alleged procurement corruption. He came to me. I went to Court & stopped the arrest. I also met President Uhuru Kenyatta THREE TIMES, locally & abroad convincing him to forgive the good Professor. Ndungu served his tenure at CBK in full. The first Governor after so long to completed his term. Then President William Ruto made him Finance Minister. I called him three or four times when Minister. He never picked nor returned my calls but always texted back he is busy! Had he been arrested, his tenure at CBK would have ignominiously ended. He wouldn’t have been made a Minister. Yet he forgot all these. I pray that in his next stage in life, he learns appreciation & humility. You can’t be too busy for those that have held your hand!
Will there be a day when MPs from North Eastern Kenya will vote against a Government of the day? Will they ever vote against laws that hurt their people? What makes them such political cowards? How can a whole region have such namby-pamby leaders?
Back in March, @JoeBiden, @BillClinton and I sat down with three real icons – the hosts of @SmartLess – to talk about everything from the economy and gun violence, to what we miss about being in office and the importance of sending Joe and Kamala back to the White House. We laughed a little bit, too. Check it out: https://t.co/c755a4gPKA

Looks like General Ogolla was in a category of 0.001 % of senior state officials who are driven by public service and not the desire to accumulate immense wealth. From what I gather, he never used his position at the top of Kenya Airforce and KDF to amass wealth. He was the epitome of leadership and integrity and loved simplicity in life and in death. Our political leaders who are reputed to be amassing insane wealth after election- should pause for a moment and emulate him. What is the true purpose of life ? Acquiring massive wealth and then leaving it behind in a state of entropy after death or truly using the public position to serve Kenyans and leaving a legacy worth remembering ? Why use public funds to buy a condominium in Dubai when majority of Kenyans live from hand to mouth ? Why not use the public position they hold at the national and county governments to truly transform Kenya ?
Every Kenyan knows Kenya Political leaders & especially Governors & MPs going to Dubai monthly if not weekly, are either taking bribe money to go deposit in banks there or buy properties or are going to collect bribe money which they carry in cash us Dollars. When will our agencies like EACC, DCI & FRC arrest them? When will US Government sanction & issue extradition warrants for them for money laundering? How can a Governor have so many constructions ongoing in less than two years?
The US has asked Rwanda to immediately withdraw all its troops from the Congo and to “remove its surface-to-air missile systems.
