“Why doesn’t she go to the police?” I dunno maybe she doesn’t want him to go to jail but also thinks he’s unfit for a US Senate seat? That actually a totally fine position to take.
Melat Kiros was fired for speaking out against the genocide in 2023.
Darializa Avila Chevalier was arrested for protesting genocide on Columbia's campus in 2024.
Both are headed to Congress in 2026.
If pro-Israel repression was supposed to intimidate them, it failed.
Excited to be back in The Nation this morning. It is my sincere belief that AOC is the only viable presidential candidate from the left. In order to channel all of that energy, she needs to reconcile completely with the Palestine solidarity movement https://t.co/q7m9ZrElcK
I’m angered by today’s Supreme Court decision to strip Temporary Protected Status from Haitian and Syrian families who have fled violence and instability to seek refuge here.
This ruling won’t stop there. It opens the door to ending TPS for more than a million people from countries across the world, putting countless families at risk of deportation and separation.
This is personal. The world’s borough is home to TPS holders who have built their lives here, raised their children here, and strengthened our communities. They’re our neighbors, coworkers, and friends. Tearing away their status isn’t policy. It’s cruelty by design.
New York must do everything in its power to protect TPS holders by expanding legal services, strengthening protections, and refusing to aid in this administration's attacks on our communities.
I'm a proud democratic socialist whose politics were forged in the labor movement.
My goal in Congress is to do everything I can to make it easier to join a union.
Erin asks Mamdani-backed Claire Valdez about James Carville's attacking the democratic socialists who won last night’s election: “Not only are you not a Democrat, you wish Democrats poorly, is what he’s saying. Is that true?”
Working people across the U.S. are done with the status quo. We are no longer accepting crumbs while the 1% become trillionaires off our backs. Our labor keeps this country running. We deserve a hell of a lot more—but we must organize together to win it.

The moral of the story…don’t stand by as your constituent is kidnapped by ICE and politically persecuted by Trump.
Espaillat bet on AIPAC keeping his political career safe…bad bet.
This is the coalition that propelled Claire Valdez to victory: NYC-DSA and UAW.
