Today, we remember Sir Richard Doll, a trailblazing humanist and doctor who dedicated his life to researching the link between smoking and cancer.
His retirement at the age of 92 led to a long feature in @ObserverUK in April 2005 on 'The Man Who Saved a Million Lives'. His work transformed public health.
Today, we celebrate his remarkable legacy, honouring his commitment to science and humanity. We were proud to call him our patron. He was born #OnThisDay 1912.
We have really enjoyed sharing our Home Learning in Teak 5 this week. From preparing a healthy meal, working out the cost of a family day out and creating levers or our own mascots, we have had a fantastic variety of things to enjoy hearing about. Well done and Thank You, Teak 5!
'We are related to every other living thing on the planet... Such simple ingredients. Such wondrous results. We are all part of this story.'
We absolutely love our animation for schools about the origins of life narrated by @theAliceRoberts ❤️
Thanks to our education team, children are being provided with vibrant resources on the humanist approach to life in classrooms across the country!

Please help me reach out to followers I've lost by RTing.
And let's try to keep this a positive place to share news, views, science, history, kindness and love.

We owe it to them: all our female ancestors who were denied that democratic right. Patriarchal forces still attempt to hold us back by pushing apathy, telling us that “politicians are all the same”. They’re not - and you have the right to choose, to vote from the heart, for our future, for all our children - and to make your voice and your vote count.
