Surprised to find several lovely Rosy-Pink Bee Orchids at Pooley Hall Colliery this week. I've walked past this very spot previously and never seen any. Probably down to being Shy Bloomers, sometimes staying underground for a couple of years @BSBIbotany@wildflower_hour
After some waiting and searching in less than perfect conditions, we managed a single Swallowtail at Strumpshaw Fen, Norfolk this morning. A little worn but still an impressive butterfly that was well worth the effort. @leannegiraffe
I stopped counting Painted Ladies when I got to 100 on my walk between Runswick Bay and Kettleness on the Cleveland Way this morning. There seemed to be one on the path every 20 feet or so. Also had a Yellow Tail caterpillar and a Five-spot Burnet caterpillar.
We had a great afternoon yesterday enjoying the spectacle of thousands of nesting seabirds at Bempton Cliffs. After a few hours of searching we were lucky enough to have a close encounter with some obliging Puffins. @leannegiraffe
First Small Copper of the Spring on my Hollies transect today. Also had double figure Small Tortoiseshell on my Alvecote transect as well as a bonus Honey Buzzard.
Villa under Emery.
7th, 4th, 6th, 4th.
European semi final, quarter final, winners.
Two CL qualifications.
Minuscule net spend.
Spent some on wages yes, but miles off some other clubs.
If you donβt think thatβs insane, you havenβt got a clue.

Took my daughter to Prestbury Hill today and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She's inherited one of my old cameras and managed photos of Duke of Burgundy, Small Blue and Marsh Fritillary. She got home and watered our plugs ready for planting for butterflies on the land we help manage.
