I get a lot of people suggesting we should 'co-create' the classroom rules with the students. But why? It makes no sI understand why they think it sounds good- the 'students buy in to the rules' which leads to greater ownership. But I don't think this is sensible, or demonstrable
@SHEduTeach@MrTs_NQTs You’ll get there. Take it 1 day at a time. A little notebook listing 1 or 2 things that went well each day might be useful to keep and look back on.
@SHEduTeach@MrTs_NQTs Go easy on yourself - it’s only been a week : ) my most challenging classes often resembled chaos until at least half term…sometimes (often) longer!
@SHEduTeach@MrTs_NQTs Praise the ones that are getting it right very publicly. Make some positive phone calls home and focus on increasing these numbers each lesson.

Delivered my last session for #teachfirst2022 summer institute and continue to be inspired and energised by those heading into our classrooms in September. I can’t believe no one took me up on my offer to stay until 10pm talking about behaviour management though 😬 #tookeen
This is why it matters. Representation. My daughter doesn’t have to have an interest in football. She just has to know that it’s an option. That she can become anything she sets her little heart on. From a princess to a lioness. And everything in between. #Lionesses#WEURO2022
Crying. So brilliant. So important. Too emotional to articulate more. I am glad there are 7 year olds watching this who wanted to be a goalkeeper like I did! But didn’t think it was ‘appropriate’ or ‘allowed’ to voice it. Thank you Lionesses. #Lionesses
5yo daughter’s teacher called her “a mathematician” yesterday.
She was so excited to tell us when she got home and said it was the best thing about her day. She spent the evening doing number bonds independently & absolutely loving it.
Never underestimate the power your words.
