I decided to make a thread of all my hanja threads in order to keep track on them and to make it easier to come back to them. Here it starts:
Simple tweet about the word 전화
https://t.co/VJfLiKQhIP
Yesterday, while going through some hanjas,I discovered that in
전화=phone call
전 means "electricity" like in
전철=subway
전구=light bulb (구=공=ball)
And 화 (말씀,이야기) means "words, story" like in
대화=conversation
일화=anecdote
신화=mith, legend (신=귀신=ghost, spirit)
"In Korean politics, 'watermelon' has come to be an insult. Just as the watermelon is very different both inside and out, the expression has come to be used for people who look one way on the outside but are different on the inside." https://t.co/popc0vhE88
Perfecto! Que no? No te vengas abajo.
