BREAKING: Cartoonist Gideon Kibet Bull is the 5th Kenyan government critic released today after getting abducted on Christmas eve. I’ve spoken to him and confirmed that he is free.
He has also been in contact with his family
Attention!
Steve Mbisi and Kibet Bull are still missing.
It makes no sense to release Billy Mwangi, Ronny Kiplagat, Bernard Kavuli, and Peter Muteti and still continue holding Kibet and Mbisi.
FREE EVERYONE NOW!!!
UPDATE
The Defenders Coalition, @LawSocietyofKe, @ReformsGroup and @HakiKNCHR are working to secure the release of over 40 individuals who were arbitrarily arrested today and detained at the Gigiri and Central Police Stations in Nairobi and Mombasa.
We strongly condemn these arrests and the excessive use of force by the police against citizens peacefully exercising their constitutional right to picket and petition the state, especially in relation to the growing issue of enforced disappearances.
The arbitrary arrest of Hussein Khalid and Mombasa activists, is an outrageous abuse of power. Silencing voices of justice is a direct attack on the freedoms we all deserve.
We demand their immediate and unconditional release. Intimidation will not win. #EndAbductionsKE
Police have now surrounded the defiant group protesting outside Aga Khan Walk in Nairobi CBD.
The protesters have chained themselves together and refused to disperse.
At 7:15 this morning, six state agents forcefully abducted @bonifacemwangi from his home in Lukenya and took him to an unknown destination. It's concerning that abductions of citizens continues unabated despite assurances by president @williamsruto that his government adheres to the rule of law.

Allyson Felix, an 11-time Olympic medalist and mother of two, is launching the first-ever nursery in the Olympic Village. The facility will feature play areas, changing stations, and private spaces for breastfeeding. In a statement, Felix said, “I knew how difficult it was to compete at the top level after having my daughter, and some practical things were really hard. When I joined the IOC Athletes’ Commission, I wanted to be a voice for athlete moms and remove one more worry during the pressures of competition.”
Nothing about this revolutionary has been done in isolation. We have fed, supported, loved and cared for eachother in big plus small ways.
Community is where we find healing and safety.
