@NurseStandard You don't just "go up" to a band 6! In my NHS Trust certain courses and skills are a requirement for Band 6 role a vacant post has to be applied for & if applicant is successful, interview process is next. Sold a lie with AFC it's just a pay scale for different jobs.

They have recommended a sub inflationary 2.8% pay award for public sector workers to the pay review bodies.

None of the changes suggested will bring the waiting times close down to 18 weeks.

@NursingTimes This old chestnut 🌰 Until the DOH remunerate NHS employed Nurses appropriately, there will always be a need to use agency Nurses for the shortfall, which is a completely inappropriate use of NHS budget.

@ShaunLintern @wesstreeting Failing senior managers rewarded with a "pay off", meanwhile, nursing staff in my area do not get paid enhanced pay for overtime. Is @wesstreeting really this myopic? His plans for league tables will encourage staff to leave the lower "performing," resulting in staff shortages .

@ShaunLintern @wesstreeting Patient safety will be compromised without a safe acuity of Nursing/Medical staff in clinical settings. My Trust withdrew enhanced overtime payments for permanent staff to fill in short shifts and still had to pay more per hour for agency staff X 3 last week in my workplace.

@ejgarner85 Working an hour for free tonight on a hospital ward. It doesn't work out that you get guaranteed to work the shift next year when clicks go forward. Nurse work so much unpaid overtime, we're held to ransom by our commitment to our patients. Another reason why we leave.

@DrEilidhMaria @wesstreeting @LBC I heard you, he can not qualify PA role in PC and as you pointed out investing in RN's would be be more beneficial to patients. I worry that @wesstreeting is not aware of the real needs of the NHS. Investing in Doctors and Nurses should be his first action. Hope u get a job 👍

@Duncan_CNO I feel that it's futile to respond to the "Change" process as my Professional Body and Trade Union @theRCN have, and continue to give evidence to the government and @wesstreeting regarding problems that Nurses face and often offer ideas for resolution, yet still not listened to.

@ShaunLintern Organisations including @theRCN have presented evidence to this government, @wesstreeting and health ministers, still no action around #safestaffing and retaining & recruiting the Nursing workforce. No chance of a years worth of moaning from the public helping the NHS.

@ShaunLintern @wesstreeting After several announcements regarding H &SC policies, Mr Streeting does not understand or recognise the nuanced complexities to be considered. Patient safety will only be improved by ensuring the clinical workforce is adequate in skill mix and numbers. #safestaffing
