Not how I wanted the weekend to go.
Thanks for all the messages. Physically, that was a big one but I’m okay. Emotionally, it hurts even more for something like this to happen here at home, in front of all of you, the tifosi.
Thank you for the incredible welcome and support all weekend. Monza with you is always something so special. ❤️
team sources confirm there's no concerns about charles' participation in madrid this weekend.
it also looks like his power unit has survived the impact, at least at this stage: checks will continue until it's time to hit the track.
giovinazzi will be with the team, but due to logistics (he was also in silverstone)

"Mercedes threw everything at him today. Charles Leclerc has coped brilliantly. He won in Spa! He wins in Monza! Charles Leclerc is the winner of the 2019 Italian Grand Prix!"
7 years ago today, Charles Leclerc won in Monza for the 1st time with Ferrari
At Silverstone, everyone was saying how incredible he was, how strong he was because he put 20 seconds to the P2 before the SC. Today, everyone is debating his level because he defended against his teammate and made a mistake in the last corner.
He still has the right to defend however he wants against anyone, though, right? On track, he’s not there to respect his teammate (any driver) or let him through. Some of you genuinely make me laugh. I think we need to remind them of the battle in China, where things got very intense but were incredible to watch, or Japan, where everything was cool. Charles is considered the best defensive driver by the drivers themselves, and that’s not by chance. He has proven in the past that he has what it takes to withstand pressure, whether it was Monza 2019, Monaco 2024 or Monza 2024. He can handle pressure. So saying he’s useless or that he’s overrated is simply stupid. Anyway, he’ll answer you on track in the next few races.
As for his crash, yes, it was a big mistake. I believe it’s his first mistake in race this year. Monaco doesn’t count because he had no brakes anymore, and in Spain, the mistake happened in qualifying. Is it really the end of the world for a driver like Charles to make a mistake? Max has made plenty of mistakes this season too, yet nobody questions his level. But if you notice something, all the drivers who were strong and consistent last year are making mistakes this season with these new regulations, Russell, Max, Piastri, Charles, etc….
We know that Charles isn’t exactly popular with everyone (outside Ferrari) because he defends and attacks like an animal, but that’s exactly what makes a great champion. And for those who want to hear it: he’s not leaving. This is his home, his team, his history, and his story with Ferrari is far from over. He’ll come back stronger than ever and shut you all up.
you can’t make this shit up. like bro didn’t even make it to lap 3. it shouldn’t be controversial to say that charles is the only other driver to embody the symbol of ferrari since schumacher.
Btw, we should anticipate the possibility that Charles will sit out the next race. He says he’s fine but you don’t temporarily lose part of your vision if you’re “fine”. That was a textbook concussion impact and I’d be a little shocked if he gets the all clear for next week.
"It’s not the way we wanted our weekend to finish and we have to turn the page and look ahead to Madrid next week. A huge thank you to all our tifosi who have supported us here at our home race. We will make sure to come back stronger."
WE ARE ALL ALWAYS BEHIND YOU NOW TOMORROW AND FOREVER
