Let’s grieve each Palestinian life lost.
And let’s grieve each Israeli life lost.
Every human being is equally precious and made in the image of God.
Let’s do all we can to work for peace, and for justice.
Beware of any Christian movement that demands the government be an instrument of God’s wrath but never a source of God’s mercy, generosity, or compassion.
@CarissasNewLife That has been a hard part in this journey: discovering that fundamentalism and judgement isn't limited to the EV world. And, realizing where I bring it with me. This deconstructing journey has layers and layers. I hang on to the fact that with each layer, there is more love too.
If anti-LGBTQ+ Christians were as serious about the Bible as they claim to be, they would be a lot more concerned with peace, love, and poverty alleviation than yelling at queer people.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but liberals don’t create Pride displays to make kids gay or trans; they create Pride displays so that the kids who already identify as gay or trans no longer feel marginalized, depressed, or try to take their own lives.

I cannot save the blue
No matter how much plastic
I eat.
I cannot reach the unknown gods
No matter how much
I sing.
We cannot go back to the way
things were, no matter how far
I swim.

Maybe this is where I say I'm glad I'm in Washington. This student could follow areas in history important to him that other states have shut down tight. Representation matters.
Today I lost my one student who allowed class to be a Lit circle instead of a teacher doing her best to help students connect. And, my chronic under performer WOWED us with his history project. (He found something that mattered in his life and ran with it.) Win some. Lose some.
@Dillawaney Turns out that this is the very truth that tells us we need each other. So we can have access to everyone's super powers, instead of feeling like a failed super hero.
Classes like that last one make me eat all the Valentine candy at once.
I just don't even know what my win is anymore with these kids. What is it they need to bring curiosity and imagination into their learning?!
in one of Terry Pratchett’s books Granny Weatherwax says “Sin, young man, is when you treat people as things. Including yourself,” and I think half the evils in the world come from forgetting that other people are human.
@FiveThirtyEight There were many teachers using ChatGTP as a creative search engine to design deeper units, or to create work that the students could analyze. Many teachers were very skeptical, as were teaching experts on the panel.
